Qantas Business Class meals & menus

More menu pretentiousness. They couldn't have called the 'polpettini' simply meatballs, so there's a chance that more pax might know what the single non veg option is?
It’s a bit of a pet hate of mine an any airline TBH not just QF.
I don’t want to have to google it or be a chef to know what I want to order

It's a fair point, but you can always ask when the FC come around to take the order and be ready with a backup option if you decide you don't like it after it's been explained to you 🤷‍♂️

Admittedly limited backup options on the menu in question here.

And FWIW, I think the airlines are in a bit of a lose-lose situation here. Call them meatballs, and people will want to know if "...meatballs are seriously the best [airline] can offer for J??" Call them 'polpettini' and we castigate them for making too much of a "basic" dish.

That should be the reaction no matter what they are called :)

Only a few. Possibly those on board would be charmed by the international cuisine, together with the small bowl of delicious leaves ... of something.

I ate lamb kofta for an airline meal once. I won't tell you the airline or the class; you can guess. No, it wasn't Qantas.

It was tasty but I wonder if it comes in as "too basic", though based on what else was on the menu, it wasn't a cut above or below the other dishes (bar one).

Call them ham and cheese toasties, and people will want to know if "...ham and cheese toasties are seriously the best [airline] can offer for J??" Call them 'croque monsieurs' and we castigate them for making too much of a "basic" dish.

My edits in bold.

I think the airlines are in a bit of a lose-lose situation here.

I guess the 'win' option, where they allocate slightly more budget for better catering, is off the table?

Fair call. I'm not trying to be an apologist for Qantas on this front. Just suggesting that in the current state of things, they're on a hiding to nothing however they play it (admittedly to your point, short of increasing their budget).

Anyone with a recent QF69 menu? Flying this next week and interested in the regional choices.
Nothing recent - only found this post on this thread from about 12 months ago. I'm going to guess for regional choices you can expect some sort of curry dishes with rice and maybe naan, there may be two choices with one of them being vegan. The curry dish, I'd imagine, won't blow anyone's heads off in spices.

There's also QF70 menu around this thread, too.

Went with the soup and the beef. Food was fine albeit unremarkable, the beef was better than the soup.

The service was usual friendly informal but even for QF standards it was slow, glacial. It took an hour to get after take off drinks with cold nuts, the whole service took 3 hours. It’s the slowest of any business class I’ve experienced, i don’t know if it’s the crew numbers, galley set up or what but it is really lacking compared to the competition.
QF71/72 has routinely been the slowest business class service I've experienced. I've put it down to the fact that it's a 5-hour flight, and the crew doesn't feel rushed because they don't expect people to want to sleep, so they take their time getting around to things. Now, I have no idea whether it's true or not, but that's certainly how it feels.
