Qantas Business Class Upgrade - MEL -> SIN

7E or 7K better?

Also noticed it says apply for upgrade? What else can be upgraded as this flight has no first class.

Put in 7K for now.

However camp T-80 as rows 1-3 opens up and then 2A/K would be the best seat on the a330.

The upgrade button just exists for everything. If you click it, it just says nothing available.

7K for now as it’s a window.

80 hours prior to departure Qantas will open up the seat map, releasing all seats which are currently reserved for higher status.

On the a330, row 1 A/K are good, followed by row 6A/K. The footwells in row 2 can be restricted due to the curvature of the fuselage. Dunno about row 4 as haven’t sat there.

I flew home in 6A last week and didn’t have an issue with ordering… 3 out of 4 choices were still available (the fish apparently sold out in the first row or two!). Equally all the dessert options were available by the time it reached me.

I’d have no issue with 7K but the toilets on planes are loud and I’m sure someone who drops a smelly 💩 you’d smell at first opening of the door 😂

They are exposed to the aisle though.

I'd prefer 2AK or 4AK for the privacy.
On reflection probably a fair call for 1A, given the traffic to the WC on that side. For 1K, being a dry galley and very private to start with, being on the aisle isn’t a major issue for me, with the trade off being the wider footwell.

With the suction flush of the WC, pretty rare for any lingering smells! But 7A/K are exposed to the aisle, have a lot of foot traffic, and are right beside a busy galley. All good reasons to choose another seat if you can!

I have some hundreds of flights racked up in QF international business.

The biggest issues I have found are footroom and being bumped by someone passing on the aisle.

Being near a dunny has not made any difference to me.

Which available seat is best? I’m thinking furthest from the toilet?
Hopefully you can get a seat further away from the galley and toilets, rather than Row 7, at T -80. Away from galley noise and the dunny door slamming, and what-not, etc.

I wish there was an app that you could get notified the second it was available. It would be awesome even if it meant you’d pay a fee to get this alert.

Thanks, 80 hours before departure time?
correct.

Now sometimes there have been reports it might be a few minutes late, but in my limited experience it’s always been bang on to 80 hour mark.

You can also check closer to departure, depending on the aircraft, as upgrades get processed. So if on the a380 for example, the passenger in row 11 might have got an upgrade to F, freeing that seat up.

It’s T-80 and still not showing

Now it shows this I’m confused?

This flight is often flown by the domestic config A330 which doesn’t have that toilet anyway

I chose window then was deallocated from my 7E. Then when I went back to the map only my seat was showing to choose. Every seat must’ve been assigned
