Just checking prices online, and noted that for dates in April and May 2012, Qantas is offering return Business fares to the US for just over $9000 including taxes. Interestingly, one way fares are listed (to New York, at least) for over $11 000.

Have to check it out and see if premium economy has come down too, as we are travelling end April and returning end May

$9000??? what a bargain, worth grabbing several at that price... just remortgage the house... :)

Hold back on that mortgage as we should be able to cut that in half if we do another drinks night in Perth. Those drinks in the west seem to lubricate all of our how to go J class for less thoughts especially to the US.Drinks first, travel later......it always works a treat.

Yes, nothing like a bunch of western AFFers getting their heads around a problem over a few drinks... I think the only way i will be flying J will be probably buying points off AA or US Airways when the have their special offers as work won't be paying for me in any forseeable future, but there are probably a few other sneaky, cheaper ways as well.... :)

$9000??? That is outrageous!! Anything above $7000 for a business class ticket to the US west coast is too expensive.

Sounds like a few of you should get an award ticket to TPE or CMB.

CX will happily give you change on $9000 for TWO discount biz RT tickets to LAX from either.

Happily wandering (and reserved)

Fred

CX will also get you MEL->JFK for <$9K, or MEL-LAX for <$8K

CX don't seem to be offering cheaper Business fares in April / May 2012, ex SYD. Maybe it's a MEL thing.
