Yeah well for me the reason is because I've had almost 0 Qantas flights since joining QBR. My first ever Qantas flight was this year and it was booked via amex travel so I didn't bother trying to work out how to add the ABN.

It's incredibly simple. Log in to QF and go to MMB. There is a field there to add your ABN.

As @Daver6 stated adding you ABN to any booking is simple. If you have booked using AMEX travel sometimes points will not credit to QBR but with often depend on how flights have been booked. Stating I "booked via AMEX" is rather open ended as AMEX have personal and corporate travel services. When I book flights through the corporate booking engine it is automatically billed to AMEX and even if I add my ABN via MMB QBR points are not earned.

Fair point.
I've let so many amex travel dollars go in the last 1.5 years that I can't even remember how to add an ABN to those bookings, or if it's possible.

In theory it's that simple but not always. The ABN option can be greyed out. Which I've seen on awards flights, but I've also been able to add an ABN to an award flight. From (poor) memory the difference being AAward vs Qantas award. Corporate bookings are very likely to be blocked for adding an ABN.

Slightly-off topic... does anyone know if it's possible to book through Amex Travel, use the $450 Qantas flight credit AND get QBR pricing by quoting the relevant QBR discount code? As I understand it, Amex Travel is effectively a travel agent from Qantas' perspective.
Appreciate any feedback!

Yes you sure can

Are Amex travel phone agents generally aware of this capability or do they need to be "coached for enhanced performance"??
I have had to prompt them, and from memory AMEX locked in the booking and was informed 'I will need to check and will call you back' or words similar. AMEX came back with the QBR pricing but FWIW I have given up on using AMEX vouchers for flights as I see no point in paying an AMEX change fee that QF would have otherwise done for free.

Have come to the conclusion it's probably best to use Amex Travel Credit on v.simple flights only & use QBR discount separately. Tks for input team.

I was about to cancel my double SC booking because of several flight changes and not wanting to return via MEL and have to quarantine. I did receive the business targeted email but not sure if I activated as I wouldn’t be booking more flights in the next three months, and I’d binned it. Frantic searching was avoided when a lovely lady at the call centre changed my return flight via SYD to the next morning at no extra charge. Lesson learned: activate EVERYTHING and store in Qantas file until use by date.

I often add my ABN after booking flights; it is really easy. However prices are rarely cheaper booking through QBR so I don’t bother, although just now there are some good deals.
