Qantas Call Centre Long Wait Times

My understanding (from unofficial sources) is that there is a pool of priority phone numbers that airport staff give to passengers which rotates every few weeks.

I will attempt to publish the currently active number(s) in this post:

1300 304 318
1300 659 161
1300 025 396
1300 659 116

1300 024 715
1300 025 390

Well I'm up to 6 calls with no success. Two have failed to call me back as promised. Doesn't matter if I call at 7am, lunch time or late arvo, I always get SA.
I can see 4 U seats on EF but the call centre insists that there are only 2 and the "website is not updated" 🤷‍♀️

I think not all U seats are available to some airlines. For example, QR sometimes make only 1 seat available to QF but 2 seats available to BA. If six agents are telling you the same thing there is a possibility they are right.

But why are QF U seats not available on QF? If I book a new flight I can select three reward seats, but the call centre says there are only 2. We're talking a simple MEL-SYD flight here.

I've had this before - numerous SA/FJ agents wasn't able to see availability despite I'm able to add that into a PNR on the call time and time again (I wanted to add it to an existing PNR). They initially claim it will be cancelled and won't be ticketed - went ahead and it was ticketed on the new PNR. Obviously they then say can't move the seat on the new PNR to the existing PNR.

With sufficient attempts, can a lowly Bronze end up jagging HBA, or does the QFF# input totally rule this out?

I have been trying to get through to Qantas support to make a minor change for a flight with no success for a few days now. Anyone ever just rock up to the desk in Sydney airport and get help there? It is a bit out of my way but a day trip into the city this weekend wouldn't be impossible for me.

No. No one does ticketing at airports. Not for along time.

What type of change?

Just called mid morning today - I used first number at top of this thread - not sure if it made a difference or not - but I was answered within a minuite or 2 - so I was very surprised. Not sure where I was connected to - dont think it was Aus - she did have a bit of an accent but very easy to understand. Booked a couple of flights when a double sc offer was on- was reluctant to cancel - and the fact I had not been to Syd for years and looking forward to it - but circumstances changed. Not sure if using a credit voucher I would still get the extra sc - but as Q had changed first flight by a few hours I was able to cancel - so took that option. Other flight had also changed but only eligible for credit voucher.
