Qantas Call Centre Long Wait Times

My understanding (from unofficial sources) is that there is a pool of priority phone numbers that airport staff give to passengers which rotates every few weeks.

I will attempt to publish the currently active number(s) in this post:

1300 304 318
1300 659 161
1300 025 396
1300 659 116

1300 024 715
1300 025 390
1300 659 115
1300 659 134
1300 659 502

I got this number in an email, 1300 659 116 for those whose flights Qantas has cancelled and were travelling in the next 7 days.
I rang at 1PM & 3PM - both times my call was answered straight away and my refunds were processed without drama... I do have one more refund to sort, I hope I haven't shot myself in the foot by giving out this number that works...
picked up in 1 min!

If it were me, I'd be saying they stuffed up, they fix it. How they fix it isn't your problem. You're expectation is a J ticket to LHR. Escalate escalate escalate.

To their credit, I'm now on QF1 in J (U).

Took about an hour to resolve, but the agent was solid and understood my predicament.

10 min later and credit apparently issued after waiting nigh on three weeks after denied boarding...

Appeared on CSR's end but was told it may take up to 24h. Also now I have an additional CBR-SYD booking showing up which I never made... Won't complain if it tickets.

Can a moderator put the numbers at post#1267 to the top as possible future numbers? Then we can try them when desperate.

@encryptededdy - how does this number fit into your phone number analysis? Is this an old number that they reactivated?

Yes, looking at reverse Australia, there are comments back in 2016 about this number being used by Qantas

I have just seen your post and updated the initial post accordingly. To ensure that we don't miss these posts, the best thing to do is to "Report the Post" which includes the updated number. That way myself and the whole moderation team will be advised of the new number and can update the initial post accordingly. Thanks.

Has anyone tried the pixel hold for me service with Qantas? I've used it successfully with Hawaiian airlines.

This is the feature if you're unsure of it:

Yep, use it all the time, works really well.

Oddly though, my Pixel phone thinks 13 12 11 is someone named Ian Breakspear??

Has been the case for years - think it's Google thing. I saved the number in my phonebook as Qantas to override it.

A warning on 1300 659 116, it keeps going through to South Africa or Manila (not sure if they have a call centre here). I have gotten through instantly but twice as the operator put me on hold they have hung up or it has malfunctioned. They have lost my Malaysia airlines flights somehow from SYD-LHR, and released it back into inventory and can't get it back. Also, they can only seem to put in a request to get onto a Qantas flight and it is not a guarantee in U Class.

The 1300 659 116 number would only route to SA/Fiji call centres while the 1300 025 396 number would normally route to HBA/AKL call centres.
My personal experience has been even 1 hour of wait time to talk to HBA/AKL would be worth the wait, as you'd normally spend much much more time on hold with the SA/Fiji call centres.

One of my recent involuntary re-routing when routed to SA ended up with the supervisor insisting additional taxes and fees to be charged despite being advised differently previously by HBA (and a note left on my PNR). Call (3 hrs long at that point) was disconnected mid sentence and a very strongly worded note was left by the SA supervisor. My call later in the day (once I've found the 1300 025 396 number), despite waiting 50 mins before being picked up by someone in HBA, was much quicker and issue resolved in no time. Mind you, this is despite the agent have to contact their supervisor to have the note from SA supervisor overridden.

Moral of the story? Avoid the SA/Fiji call centres at all costs if you want your booking intact and not be charged unreasonably.

Matter resolvedRebooked flights to Europe yet again as some SYD-LHR J availability came up, as well as J seats on JNB-SYD to replace existing Y. Seats booked, but still awaiting ticketing. I'm a bit anxious as there is a QR flight in the middle... On the plus side, the agent said no additional taxes payable.

I just called as a WP to make a new booking with points. Went through the menu system and informed its a wait time for one to two hours. Got me thinking, what if I want to spend cash. Hung up and called again but selected a paid booking not using points. Informed the wait time is one to two hours as well.

If I was a QF shareholder I'd be livid. They're making it this difficult to spend money with QF. That is absolutely insane!
Yes agree. MELTYO (HND) IS
not a domestic flight .On hold as told VGML not available call QF. After 4 hours sent message via messenger within 1 hour got sorted out. Yes getting fed up with loyalty. Ask A Joce if he has to wait. No, he closes all offices and customer services. I cant understand why some of our contributers say they operate as a domestic airline. 10.5 hours is not domestic. I can use JQ on many routes get through in 10 mins max . Book most flexible flights baggage and extra legroom seats and still get QF points and as QF have given most S.e. Asian flights to JQ am happy. Most call centres have no idea. I used to work for SQ and if I was still employed would be terminated if I were as QF staff.
