Try calling SQ, you will rarely wait more than 1 minute regardless of status.
Maybe I should call them? Haven’t flown SQ in maybe 20 years! love SQ but the connections into Europe in and out are a major downfall. I can never make that day in Singapore work for me and don’t really need to spend any more time there are we’ve been there many times before.

If you have the points, the SQ site is easy to use and you'll see quickly if there are 'saver' awards.

No points to spend. Have stacks of Qantas points and no flights I can book. Like fashion I seem to be a year too late for the things I like.

Do you live in MEL now? With 4 daily flights plus SQ248 it’s almost impossible not to find convenient connection to Europe. Can’t think of another airline apart maybe EK that has better network for Aussie pax.

I recently contacted Delta for a question about my booking, and although I'm a VA platinum this status isn't recognised by Delta's phone system, so I was in the "nobody" queue. Yet I was still on hold for only five minutes... and this was during the busy holiday season. The agent was a native English speaker (probably in the US based on Southern US accent), well trained and helpful. Delta is perhaps the best of the big three US airlines these days, but that's not really saying much as it's best of a pretty bad lot! It's really agonizing to me that Qantas compares so poorly to even a US airline...

When I search the SQ website for fares to Europe it usually gives me suggestions that involve VA from ADL to MEL then the rest on SQ. Still usually ends up being competitive timewise, even if compared to EK and QR one stop flights.

Agree that the SQ direct flight ex ADL is not much good for Europe connections on SQ, timing-wise.

The seasonal evening ones are worse!
Gets in to SIN around midnight but most of the connections I want all leave around an hour later so it means we would have to spend the night.

Min connect time SQ to SQ is only 45 mins I think at Changi. So an hour is fine to connect.

I regularly connect from MAA to SYD in SIN with a 65 min connection time on SQ. It works well and I always get to the gate before boarding starts, even if I have to change terminals. Anxiety is always low however as there are many more SIN-SYD flights if I do miss the connection, which wouldn't be the case for many European destinations.

I do the same coming back from CPT (2 or 3 times a year). Only missed the 55 min connection once and SQ were all over it. You’re right though, not too stressful when the next flight is only about 2 hours later.

Try the baker's dozen, regular dozen, one short.
Thanks, I did phone with the promise of a return call which never eventuated. This is not the first time I have not received a promised call back so it did not surprise me. Why do they even say they will call back without loosing the place in the queue? I guess it just reduces the number of poor frustrated customers hanging on for important assistance. O well, will call them in the small hours and see if that works.

Phoned QF Premium number at 9.30am today .... Hobart answered in less than 1 minute !!!....Very happy !!
