Qantas cancel Sydney to LAX (Wed. & Fri. services) in January!

So looking more closely, it looks like SYD-LAX is MT-T-SS and MEL-LAX is --W-F-S

So other than Sunday when both routes fly, it looks like the other 4 are from SYD and another 2 from MEL.

At least there is QF metal running every day, and if you have to reduce flights this is the way to do it.

Thanks justin. The only days my friends and I were affected were Wednesday and
Friday!

Yep, and I was due to fly on a Friday.

I called AMEX this morning and changed to the day prior, no extra charge obviously. Good excuse for an extra day on holiday.

Looks like all direct Brisbane-LAX flights have been cancelled today until April. I had booked a US trip for my son for February and BNE-LAX flts were rescheduled via Sydney today. The problem is that Qantas have not changed the connecting AA flights in the US and they don't work at all. e.g. The connection from LAX leaves before the flight from Sydney arrives.

I couldn't face the Qantas call centre. I'll probably cancel the flights and try to rebook online. If there is no availability, I'll suggest my son postpones the trip until the end of next year.

There is a phone number in another thread. Check that out.

find the positives... extra few SC for the routing via MEL for "free" :D
Hopefully that's the only positives of the trip 😁

I wonder how flexible QF are on routing in these instances. To me, the most direct way to LAX from SYD would be via BNE, ADL, PER, DRW, MEL but I'm by no means a routing expert 😅
