Qantas cancels flight, refuses paid upgrade, refuses points refund

The cynic in me wonders if positive results from ACA contacts have anything to do with the current proposals around an EU261 style legislation in Australia.

I doubt airline customer service is that sophisticated.

Like what drron said, the annotation is pathetic. It's like when you take a bank to the ombudsman, you win and you get a "Goodwill adjustment", not a "We made an error and now we're doing the right thing by correcting it". It's almost as if the customer is supposed to be grateful for the error made by big business being corrected.
 
Ok… but… the QF phone numbers return you to the same group of agents, and the same replies :(

Telling someone that adding a single award flight LGA-ORD will attract AUD425 airport tax is crazy. and you can’t speak to a manager, you can’t escalate. And the ACA process means your seats will have gone.

I re-watched the 4 Yorkshiremen last night, and yes, it does look like I was saying "luxury".

Neither situation is good. Facing a blank wall is just as bad, and also much more frustrating. But not worse.
