Looking to book flights from Cusco to Miami via Lima on LATAM as a QF partner reward. Shows up in the multi-city search as available in Economy and Business - but with "Your flight will be in Economy" for the CUZ to LIM sector. No problem with that as it's a short flight.

So rang the call centre (Fiji) to book my preferred flights and was advised no there was Business availability on the CUZ-LIM sector but available on the LIM-MIA sector - exactly as the website shows.

However they can't book the whole trip in business as their system won't let them price it as married sectors (according to the agent) with different classes - has to be all economy. Understand that the individual sectors aren't both available in business but why can't I mix classes? Based upon previous interactions with the Fiji call centre I'm quite sceptical about the accuracy of this advice.

Should I accept this advice as accurate or keep trying?

Keep trying. Unless/until you get three agents in a row who all say the same thing with the same explanation, in which case they may be right...

Yes keep trying. It can definitely be done, I’ve made several such bookings in the last year. The only way to do it though is to call. As platinum, I’ve been able to get onto the Hobart angels, who do it without any problem. Without doubt being able to deal with Hobart is my favourite platinum perk. Maybe escalating to a supervisor might get you the correct answer.

You can't escalate to a supervisor. You might as well ask for the moon on a stick.
