If you can't get credit, it's not a bad choice as nothing else will earn you QFF points... however, if you can get credit then why would you use the product? That's always going to be the argument. The biggest detractors of the card are always the ones who have credit and don't need it.
I previously used it when I couldn't get a credit card so my choice was a debit card or Qantas Cash, and it worked great, because I earned thousands of points.
I see the exchange rates have supposedly improved, while they'll never be the best and no one would ever expect them to be, it should be down to each individual person as to whether they find the card useful. If you have credit, you can likely do better. If you don't, while you might do better with another prepaid card, it depends how valuable the points are to you. I see it's now 1.5 points per $ overseas... that's pretty enticing for a prepaid card. From July 2017 that will actually be better than my AMEX overseas!
