Qantas Chauffeur service

Please give me some feedback as to what I should do.

I have a Chauffeur pick up scheduled for early Friday morning, I live 68 Kim from BNE airport. Qantas website advises that I need to pay $2.80 per Kim over 60 Kim's from the airport which Is ok by me. Thats about $23.00. Just had Brunel ring to confirm booking and was told that I had to pay $55.00.
Should I just pay up or argue ?

Did you ask them how the $55 was calculated? That amount would mean you are living 19.6km beyond the 60km zone.

Is your 68km the actual road driving distance or great circle (as-the-crow-flies)?

Hi John, thanks. I did ask the question but was told pretty much, that is the charge from my area. It is the actual road distance as I have measured it previously and also confirmed with google maps. 31 Kim as the crow flies.

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

Perth experience today (in fact I'm still in the car).

We had 4 bags, 3 of which are airline maximum size and the rules said 2 bags so online I thought I had booked two cars. They appeared as two entries with their own name, address, contact details.

We didn't receive any calls or notifications at all regarding the booking.

A nice guy from Hughes was waiting in the terminal, but only one car. He explained they've been told no luggage in the vehicle for safety reasons. We managed to squeeze everything in anyway. (It's a caprice)

They need to work this out. Why do I have 2 people with 3 x 32kg each in business and then no way to get it home.

On the way out next we are on the same PNR and have booked 2 cars just to be sure so will see what happens in SYD, on the way back we are on separate PNRs and also booked two cars as we will probably bring a lot back from Europe, after 6 years my parents decided I need to get rid of the boxes in their spare bedroom :D

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

Guys are you eligible for chauffeur drive if you have a J/F flight on QF booked using AA miles as a partner award redemption ?

Yes as long as there is a QF flight number on QF metal (which it should - mine did).

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

QF029 has answered it, but I will again - yes. Travelling WLG-MEL-DUB-LHR in November, getting chauffeur drive in WLG/MEL/LHR from the booking.

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

So I have the choice of using my QFF points on EK405 MEL-SIN and getting the Chauffeur transfer or booking QF35 MEL-SIN and not getting the Chauffeur transfer? Seems crazy to me.

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

I am confused!

I am doing a RTW business class trip with QF legs SYD-exMEL-LHR and SFO-exLAX-MEL-SYD

No drama's with first trip as I am eligible to book car for SYD and LHR

For the last leg however it says both the LAX-MEL and MEL-SYD flights are eligable for pick up and drop off? Does this sound correct?

Does this mean I can do one or the other or all legs?? Did not mention this in Ts&Cs

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

Another little glitch, I think. Though if you do wish to have a limo transfer the 25 metres between MEL International and MEL domestic, good luck to you ....

Basically if the system says you are eligible, then you can make the booking.

No I actually have a 2 day gap to go home (I commute weekly to Sydney)

i don't want to book it and then be charged for it as it comes out of my pocket

Just a brief note, which may or may not be obvious.

You can only book Chauffeur Drive for QF or EK flights (longer than 12 hours, blah blah) that are ticketed by QF or EK only. That is, your ticket must be issued on QF or EK ticket stock.

For example, if you book SYD/LAX in F as an AAdvantage award, you are not eligible for Chauffeur Drive.

Now if this is incorrect, happy to be corrected!

And if this was obvious, well... :o I did search the thread, and couldn't find a trace of it. I called QF to confirm the rules.

Point was that my booking says that both flights qualify so technically I could book 4 transfers
1. Drop off in LA QF94
2. Pick up in MEL (ex QF94)
3. Drop off MEL-SYD
4. Pick up in SYD

i am assuming it just means I can take my pick of which one i chose to use? It will allow me to book all 4.

I think it is time to call the QFF service desk!

Sorry Kefci2000, I wasn't even referencing your posts. Had no idea if my post fell into a similar context as yours! :)

OK so service desk basically said that if it says you are eligible, you are! So I have 5 car bookings (2 for the LHR leg and 3 for the LAX-xMEL-SYD leg).

I am still confused as T&C's state available on QF94 (not on QF408) albeit it appears to extend to any transfer (xMEL) bookings......I guess they have not come across too many transfer bookings that have 2 day lag!

Not so!

I used a one way AA award in F & was picked up for my domestic flight to MEL, & would have been eligible in London had I not been just transiting.

And have another AA Award booking coming up where again I am eligible for the Chauffeur drive both here & from LHR.

I've had some strange eligibilities too, and I got the same answer when I called; if the system lets you book it you must be eligible.

Do you need to call AA to have your QF number added to the itinerary / get the QF reference to add it to QF MMB, then see that it's eligible for Chauffeur Drive?
