Qantas check-in Changi

I have a Singapore Airlines flight from Male to Singapore which lands at 7.05am. That night, I have a Qantas flight to Brisbane which departs at 8.30pm. The flights are separately ticketed.
I wanted to book into the Aerotel (airside) so we can have a rest (our flight from Male leaves very late at night and we are in Y) and maybe a swim in the pool before we head to the Qantas lounge around 5.30pm.
The issue is we will need to collect our luggage after the flight from Male. I read on the Qantas website that they can do early check-in from 8am:

Has anyone done this? Will it work for us?

Just bear in mind that the Jewell early check-in is not air-side. AFAIK you have to go through immigration in SIN to access that facility.

Yes, we will have to collect our luggage from the Male flight so can't stay airside anyway. But I want to go back airside as soon as possible so we can go to the transit hotel and needed to be able to drop our bags early for this to work. It seems to be ok as we can collect our bags, go to Jewel and check-in/ drop our bags off at the Qantas counter then go airside to the Aerotel.

Singapore Airlines should be able to tag you luggage through to the Qantas flight (ask and show the Qantas flight details during check in at Male), if they can check it through and you're eligible for online check in on the Qantas flight then you might be able to stay airside and go straight to the aerotel (SQ might even be able to issue QF boarding passes). Another AFF member was able to do this recently Self-Transfer through Changi

If you aren't able to online check in then you can visit the Qantas transit desk in Changi T1 (not sure if it's C or D side) and show your luggage receipt to get a boarding pass. Otherwise as others suggested above collect luggage, go to Jewel check in and drop bags again will also work.
