Hi

I'm travelling to the UK in December. My outbound ticket was booked before the new checked baggage allowances came into play and my one way ticket back to Melbourne was booked after the changes. I am a gold frequent flyer travelling in premium economy. My checked allowances will therefore be different for both flights.

I was just wondering whether anyone here had any experience with Qantas being pretty strict on enforcing the old checked baggage allowances or whether they would overlook them and apply the new allowances considering that they will be slightly more generous for my outbound flight. And also considering that I will be flying back to Australia a couple of weeks later and might therefore want to fly there and back with 3 cases to avoid any extra charges.

Thanks in advance for

What do your e-tickets indicate?

They both have different allowances as they were both booked at different times so relate to the allowance at the time of booking

Well each would represent one or more a separate "journies". This is a situation you can have when booking on separate tickets.

I would go the "Lowest Common Denominator".

Generally QF will give you the most generous/cheapest allowance. Note it's not a requirement and only a good-will thing.

I'm going to give them a call to see if they do have any sort of policy on this or even a way to make a note on the booking. I'm already assuming that I will have to travel on the issued tickets conditions so I might as well see if they are able to offer me a more formal gesture of goodwill before arriving at the airport as I would like to use he increased weight allowance.

But once again, if anyone has any personal experience of my situation please post a comment

thanks
