Qantas chief appointed oneworld chair

QANTAS CEO Geoff Dixon has been appointed chairman of airline alliance oneworld.

Mr Dixon replaces head of Spanish airline Iberia, Fernando Conte, as director of the oneworld governing board when the alliance meets next week in Los Angeles.

Mr Dixon will watch over the further expansion of the oneworld group, which includes heavyweights such as Qantas (qan.ASX:Quote,News), British Airways, American Airlines and Cathay Pacific.
