Sitting in the QANTAS Narita lounge right now. Very much open and operating as normal. It’s even slightly busy!
Are they doing social distancing? I was reading today where Japan is moving away from social distancing now that new Coronavirus diagnosis rates are dropping.

I read the Japan numbers are bogus as they were trying to influence the IOC to not delay the olympics.

Time will tell.

Social distancing! You must be kidding. On a train in Osaka yesterday and sardines in a can would have felt socially spaced. Everything in Japan is disturbingly “normal”.

So, social distancing in Japan is definitely over.

Anybody been through Sydney T3 since the domestic closures? If so, are any of the restaurants still trading?

I have a weekly early morning flight and rely on the lounge for brekkie. Appreciate recent experiences!

Non essential? That's just about all travel right?
FIFO doctors. The early morning and 5 PM planes to/from places like Tamworth, Orange, Coffs Harbour, Port Mac are half full of specialists.

Rex shutting up shop has left quite a few country hospitals stranded.

Feeding back. I travelled through this morning. A few food outlets open, I suspect the ones owned by SAC. More staff than passengers both in the terminal and on the plane, unsurprisingly.

Very sad news from friends in the SIN Lounges. All staff have been let go across both lounges. They have been advised there is a possibility that they will remain closed for up to 24 months.

Lounges are being deep cleaned and put into hibernation. Likely only to reopen one initially, with flight volumes reduced to 1 or 2 per day, on smaller aircraft (i.e. no A380).

Such a sad time for those wonderful SIN Lounge staff 😭

That is really really horrible news. What a sad time for aviation.

Sad and probably unavoidable. That F lounge didn't seem to be open for long before the virus struck.
