Qantas Club budget cutbacks?

I think it is normal for F check-in staff not to call over any other pax even if they are not attending to anyone.

This I also understand. I use absolute el cheapo fares whenever possible (as they all come out of my own pocket) and F class pax are entitled to all the prompt service they require.

Sydney, T3, Monday morning about 4 or 5 months ago was TOTAL CHAOS! The lines were out the door. whY (no status) check in was literally a snake winding past the WP check in line, l couldn't see the end of it to be honest. It was total madness.

The QC, SG, WP and 1W dedicated lines were also choc-a-bloc. AND, not all dedicated counters were staffed (which several people had noticed and were making a point about). A point which the OP is making here, l think.

Could happen anywhere; but on a Monday morning, (peak hour in my books), QF should know in advance about loads on flights and make adjustments accordingly with staff.

Since I've only taken that flight to PER on a Monday once, l can't really say if it happens every Monday and l try to fly in the afternoons.
I think I was there ... I transit through SYD T3 every second Monday morning at around 08:00-08:30, and there's normally hardly any queue to go through security (I don't check in at SYD), but that morning the security queue was out past check-in towards the entrance. I don't know what was going on. Definitely not normal.

I agree with this too.

What irks me however, is when premuim counter staff (J/QP) are calling over Y pax (due to no premium pax lining up), but continue blindly calling Y pax, oblivious to the fact that premium pax have shown up and are patiently waiting.

... I have been there 6 times this year and the only thing I noticed last weekend was that they had Moet in the F lounge. Usually it is not there.
They normally put the Moët out befor the LAN flight to SCL. They tend not to replace it afterward unless someone asks. ;)

Other than that the local fizz is not too bad.

Yeah I've see that a few times

A couple of times after seeing all the check-in agents ignoring the J queue I have in the past wondered over to the Y queue to get that prompt attention (especially when the Y queue was not overly long).

I sometimes do it in CBR as there are not oftan many J check-in agents (outside of peak times), and if the one J agent gets called away it can be quicker to use the Y line.

If it is the same stuff as in the WLG int'l QP then it is undrinkable...

Recommend flying PX out of POM

Queues are, from the left, QF J, QC, PX Exec Club and all the rest. Two of the first 3 are usually attended, queues negligible...

Living in POM like living in the 70s, occasionally that is a good thing...
