Hi,

I'm thinking of giving my qantas club complimentary invitation that I received when I reached my silver status to a family member. Can she use the invitation to access the qantas lounge in Perth International Airport or is it just limited to the domestic airport longe? Also, my family member has a 1 year old baby travelling with her; In the invitation it states that it is valid for 1 guest only. Does this also mean she won't be able to bring her baby in with this complimentary pass?

Thank you in advance.

You can give the pass to someone else, but you are not allowed to sell it (according to the terms on the pass). There are that many passes floating around out there from different methods (eg Qantas Amex, Silver Status, comps given by staff, even that stupid Ebay seller etc) that no-one can keep track of them anyway!

The baby shouldn't be an issue. Qantas won't break up a family in that way because only one pass is being used.

The pass can be used at the International airport in the Qantas Club Business Lounge.

I gave mine to my brother who used it in Hong Kong no problems at all. And he was flying on CX (not a codeshare flight!)

I personally wouldn't use it at Perth International, the room is no larger than my bedroom.

I would instead keep it and use it at the other end, on your way back.

That is debatable.

Qantas PER domestic lounge is open longer than Qantas international lounge and alcohol is available for more hours throughout the day....

Unless that's an exaggeration, you must have quite the large building in which to fit your bedroom!

IIRC, the PER int QP is at least ~20 x 15 metres.

That's ok serfty, you can stay at my mansion any time

Having spent an hour ir so in the PER Int lounge earlier in the week I can say that found it most adequate for pre-flight preparation. It was no different to using any other small port international lounge. There was sufficient seating for the passengers awaiting a fairly full QF77, and reasonable snacks and beverages much in line with what I have found in BNE. Its no FLounge, but its certainly ok.

My only concern with using an invitation pass is that it only opens about 90 mins before departure so not a lot of opportunity to use it over an extended period to get better "value". But most of us have better things to do that sit in a lounge unless forced by delays or long connection times.

I did find the security screen point to be very inefficient. It was a good thing there was not a huge queue. The staff seemed to be operating in slow motion.

I'll just let my relative to decide on when she wants to use it. BTW, I've already reach QFF gold status so I don't really need an invite to get in to the lounge

Point ..... ? "I'm better than you are because I'm gold"? Yeh, right.

I didn't know people can be quite sensitive about this. I think you need to chill abit. Why would you think I was showing off? I don't even know what your circumstances are. As far as I'm concern you could be the CEO of qantas.

My point was that I wouldn't need to "save" my invitation to the lounge as I can go in anytime. I'm sorry if I pass on the wrong message ...

Nothing personal, more so a go at everyone in general; e.g. I'm about to start doing some FIFO, doing between 2-4 flights a week; however will not be earning any FF points or SC for the flights as they are charter flights.

It irks me, that people walk around seeing that I'm a paid QP member and think that I'm less deserving because I don't "fly as much as them", when in reality I may even in fact fly more than them, just not with Qantas.

dr3tz,

I certainly understood your context and meaning. Sounded fine from here.

The confusion arose because flashware said "You should use it for the return flight" and dr3tz said that didnt need it. The level of intentional and unintentional miscommunication and misunderstanding never fails to amuse me with online forums.

'your' should be 'their'

There we go, confusion cleared.

General question.
I've been a member of the Qantas Club since 1993.

I have great difficulty in remembering when I was last sent complimentary
passes. Having been recently refused entry to the Qantas Club in HK on a Cathy Pacific leg arranged by QF I really could have done with one.

Can anyone fill me in on the background to these passes ie how many, how often one is entitled to?

regards
Paul R

When you reach silver status you are given 1x pass, or other ways include through promotions via AMEX, etc.

I can remember getting little packs of passes, then I used to get single passes stuck on the back of QC letters but that has been a long time ago.

I was FF silver status but am back to basic bronze now. Does that mean I won't be getting any other complimentary passes?

I plan to take my partner overseas later this year, is there any way of getting her passes for the Sydney/Singapore/Heathrow and return leg?

regards
Paul R
