Qantas Club Dress Standards...Stubbies, singlet and thongs....What the???

I have a wonderful assortment of quality sandals & very cheap thongs, though I surely wouldn't board an aircraft or 1st lounge wearing them.
Just my personal preference, though I wouldn't want to inflict my ideals on others choice of footwear. :D

Yep. It's pretty common these days. Shoes are a nuisance on red-eyes. Leave them in the bag.
The main reason i hate 'sandals' (better term, Thongs has too many different meanings!) is in case of emergency. I'd rather be caught in a take-off emergency where I had to evacuate wearing closed-toe shoes, than slip on beach wear.

Each to their own of course, it's just a silly thing with me (I also won't take my shoes off until we reach cruising altitude, and always put them back on at top of descent).

Surely behaviour the more significant issue really. I mean we have been hearing the ripped jeans complaint since the 1960's now, does anyone really care?

I mean we've seen it all. But even QF themselves like to promote a bit of skirt and flirt in the lounge. Look at this comely lass in QF's own publicity, I've certainly never encountered anyone quite so ahh err should I say, delighted, by the fruit salad and yoghurt. Guess it must be the yoghurt?

And here she is again getting ready for a big night on the plane, clearly no tacky pyjamas for her. Must have a hot date with the Captain I reckon.

Then I find out the same girls is actually a Qantas flight attendant!

What about all the WP FIFO workers in their work clobber?

Do you think Qantas would stop them entering a premium lounge in their "work suit" ?

I think not.

Similar here.. 12 lounges in past month. No observation/evidence of uncovered male feet exposed in a lounge environment.
Few people wearing sandals/thongs on flights though.
Only interesting observation was yet again, a guy at QF NRT lounge in a singlet.

People can wear what they like but don't force people to accept your choice of clothes. Singlet, shorts and thongs is only appropriate to wear in your backyard or the beach.

... My question is why be too proud to wear airline PJs?? - hang up your clothes and arrive with clean crease free free outfit !
Some people do not think it is appropriate to wear pyjamas in public. Creased clothes are the least of my worries. You can do what you like....

Isn't that a contradiction?

Depends. I am stating an opinion on my standards. I am not asking anyone to adhere to my standards.

Accept that I am not going to accept the rebellion.

Are you surveying them? Surely you're not actually paying that much attention to what people have on their feet.

Nil survey, though it is often succinctly visible..
Though the values & quality of a gentleman may be often measured by the shoes worn in certain environments. ;)

Very difficult not to notice sometimes especially when feet are up on chairs/table....

Yes, sat behind one who must have just come of shift, he was so dirty and smelt, so I moved.
