Qantas Club Flexible membership

Unless you are a solo traveller doing a large amount of flying over 2 or 3 month period then cancelling, I really don't see how anyone could see the value in this.

- Need to repay $129 joining fee if you cancel and rejoin after 90 days
- No extra baggage allowance after March next year
- No guest allowance
- No partner lounge access
- Almost double the price of the standard membership when annualised
So something like this would have come in useful for me when I was starting my SYD-MEL commutes at the beginning of 2023. While I was flying business so it didn’t really matter, if I had chosen to fly economy, a temporary membership for a month or two while getting status would have been great! (not really interested in having QC membership ‘suspended’ while having gold status)

Me thinks this will make the lounges even busier than they already are as people will book and pay for 28 days at a time, i.e, school holidays so even more badly behaved kids running in the lounge and chucking food everywhere........ummmmm

Considering people buy lounge passes on eBay for around $50 each then there is definitely a market for this product.

As a LT QC and LT QF Gold member, the lounges are are very basic at best. I would save the money and get a meal and a drink at an (expensive) airport restaurant /cafe...it will me much cheaper and better!

I agree with KCP but there are an awful lot of people out there who want to use the lounge rather than buy a KFC meal, totally agree that some gold lounges are getting a bit tired and some like the Perth lounge gets busier than a stampede at sale time and that will only get worse.

It would be a very expensive proposition for a family! $750 for a family of 3, $1000 for 4. You’d want some serious use out of that.

If one parent was a fully fledged memeber or status holder the whole family would get in for free anyway.

Am I right in understanding the Qantas club flexible membership allows access to international business lounges? This would make it a pretty decent option for solo travellers doing a return trip from Aus to Europe (or transiting through Singapore). Would also make those lounges even busier.

MEL Traveller, only one member of the house would join then bring his wife and screaming kids in a guests. How else do all the kids get into the lounges over the holidays. I'm not poo pooing it but as someone who does more than his fair share of Q flying (96 Qantas flights per year interstate and overseas all in Econ) I spend a lot of my life in lounges

Thats for normal QC / status. For this specific product, there is no guesting. Everyone needs their own.

If that was the goal you'd probably just buy the annual pass as that allows you to guest 1 and 2 kids.

The Flexible subscription does not have guesting allowances.

I was just reading on Reddit and this may be a very legitimate use for flexible membership.

Flying Y return to NA and needing additional bags.
From memory additional bag fees are pretty expensive. This would let you get +2 bags both ways and lounge access. Iirc the +2 bags alone both ways would already cost more than the membership and 1 month.

See post #13. After March next year no extra luggage allowance
