What do others think the value of these are.

How much can two people eat and drink in one visit.

I often wondered that... The lounge is nice, and the amount I fly it costs me an average of $10.38 for each time I visited the QP \ Admirals, and most of the time I would eat \ drink more than $10 worth (especially if I had to pay standard airport prices). That said, had the cost been closer to $30 per visit, well you can get some quite nice meals and a drink at airport restaurants for that price, certainly nicer than the average QP offering, and whilst the seats are more comfy, I don't know if I'd be willing to pay a large (in comparison) premium for a comfy seat for an hour.

I personally wouldn't value these above about $20... That to me is probably the break even point where if you had a couple of drinks at an airport bar and a bit of food, that's roughly what you'd spend. (It's about what I'd spend on average at an airport in my pre QP days)

Actually, what I want if anyone wants to give me one, is an original QP guest pass - the ones we used to get 5 or so years ago, anyone got one laying about they would like to donate toward my QF memorabilia collection?
Can't help you with old QF QP passes, but I have a stack of AN Golden Wing passes across various years I picked up for my collection I'd be happy to trade with anyone who's looking.

I got my best collection item the other day (arrived) - an air crew pin marking the first flight of the QF380 - unopened, mounted on a card with a note from John Borghetti :)

My next best collection item is a set of unused 1970's luggage tags - very retro ;)

Mr!

What colour?

20th Century Blue or 21st Century White ... with or without expiry date?

I don’t use eBay all that much, but can’t you normally “buy now” instead of bidding for a tiny bit more. Seeing as the passes generally increase rapidly before being pulled, one might as well just buy them outright.

I think you will find most of the auctions for complimentary Qantas Club passes do not offer a "Buy it Now" option. What is a complimentary Qantas Club pass worth? I guess the person listing it would hope people go crazy with the bidding and end up overpaying.

There is a buy it now listing which runs for the next two days.
Price is $55 for two.
I don't have enough experience with these to know if they are legit or not.
Only valid to end of April 2010.

Yes these are the legitimate complimentary Qantas Club passes that come with having a Qantas Amex premium card. I guess they may also be similar to the ones received when renewing Qantas Silver.

heres a good one I came across yesterday while trolling ebay for QF collectibles - it makes me shudder to think this is probably a scam judging by the wording and grammar... but I could be wrong, he has good positive feedback

Mr!

QANTAS BUSINESS CLASS TICKET TO ASIA RETURN - eBay Airlines, Aviation, Transportation, Collectables. (end time 23-Apr-10 23:46:40 AEST)

I guess the 6 degrees of seperation policy will apply here;) You are all my brothers (or sisters).

Mind you if QF go through checking for passes surely this auction will end badly for someone.

If you get an extra long wait at an airport, such prior to flying out on QF, and it's a QP which has got decent food, then $55 for 2 may be worth it. But it won't be good value by any stretch of the imagination. $55 would buy you and a friend a few drinks at the airport bar, and you wouldn't have to be travelling within the next 2 weeks.
