OT How about a Qantas Club "Used" Luggage Tag for around $21.00?
How much do you reckon I can get for used boarding pass. Pretty unique as it was only used once for that flight.

JohnK,

If this works we could go into business as I've got a few others and I'm sure there are plenty available through AFF :!:

 :D

Can't see why I cannot work.

People trade baseball cards, comics, magazines and other wothless items. We can go into business trading boarding passes. The lowest number boarding passes would obviously be more expensive, as well as first or business class ones. Boarding passes from airlines no longer flying would be valuable as well, and boarding passes from flights that have had problems would be ideal.

I think we can make a killing.

I've been keeping an eye on Qantas eBay items. Bought some stuff, mostly airliner models - I have a "Wunala Dreaming" sitting on top of my monitor.

Business and First Class amenities kits go for between $5 and $20, depending on how complete they are and the phase of the moon. I occasionally see someone trying to flog off economy long-haul kits with not a great deal of success. A lot of memorabilia - menus, boarding passes, inflight magazines, first day covers.

Also useful to keep an eye on "Quantas" when searching to catch similar items from sellers without a clue.

Luggage tags come up occasionally. I got two with my QFF silver kit, but I wouldn't mind a third for my carry-on, just in case I slip up and leave it somewhere. As my wife did recently - left her carryon with laptop, camera etc at the checkin counter and it didn't get returned to her until just before boarding and after she'd rung me up and confessed.

Are there now differing levels of "uniqueness" rather than something either being unique or not unique :)

DONT BUY IT

I recently had an older blue QC tag broken by some QF gorilla and asked at the TSV QP for a replacement. "How many do you need?" was the reply and now I have 6!!

What do the old Ansett GW tags go for these days? I should make some beer money for Xmas and get rid of the useless memorabilia.

That could be a handy little pocket money source. I only ever use the toothbrush and toothpaste, but could just as easily use the one already in my carry-on.

I buy a few of the womens kits for the L'Occitane products for my wife and daughter. Even with the cost of postage they can still work out good value for cosmetics which to my male eye seem to cost the earth for a few dabs.

The mens kits aren't much chop for me. Lip balm and the handy little shave foam, but otherwise I prefer my own toothbrush and razor, aftershave and antiperspirant which I keep in a compact little pouch in my carry on. I have a BA eyemask which suits me very well.

The bags or pouches themselves without any contents at all seem to be worth a few dollars, especially for first class kits.

Looking at the listings on eBay, I get the feeling that some of the sellers of these items might be flight attendants or other employees, as they seem to have a regular and inexhaustible supply.

I keep the shaving cream and the toothpaste and bin the rest. N]Trouble is I can't keep up with supply!

Dave
There are many forms of "unique" in my dictionary.

"Pretty unique", "very unique", "it could be unique", "it maybe unique", "it was unique", "rather unique" etc.

 Call Qantas Frequent Flyer and ask for an additional one. You might be suprised. Also, check at QP service desks, they often carry a few spares.
