I really have to laugh at the people I see who put their Gold or Platinum baggage tags on their laptop bags. All I can think is that they are proudly trying to advertise their status.
I do that. My wife once left her carryon at the checkin and because it had no tag it took a while for it to find its way to her.

So in case I leave my bag somewhere, I stick a luggage tag on it. Had to laugh at myself at Honolulu a while back. I had two carryon and two checkin, and each of them had tags of a different colour!

I also have my tags on my bags as I hope that in the event of it being left somewhere that the people in the QP shout my name over the tannoy or call the number on the tag (mind you if I was leaving a bomb that was activated my mobile phone - the easiest way to be well away from the bomb would be to get someone standing next to it to phone the number and trigger the bomb).

Matthecat,

Interesting question - the easiest way to find out is ring the number on the back of your gold card and ask Qantas. I've always found the assistance to be excellent.

Greetings all....my first post.

I am wondering whether anyone can direct me to how I can join Qantas Club at a discount....as my work doesn't offer a corporate rate....

Does anyone have a tip how to do this...

Am thinking of two year membership...

Am a poorly Bronze FF but will be travelling internationally and domestically a fair bit in the next two years...although won't be enough for gold/platinum.

Any help/advice..... or discount codes!!! .....appreciated

Thanks

Every time I see that a word comes to mind that starts with w....

Luckydog,

Do you suggest we don't put tags on hand luggage? I've been platinum for so long that they're the only tags I have. Why would I bother to use anything else? Recently I accidently left my laptop bag at Xray entering Australia. I was very pleased to have it tagged!!!

I'm in the same boat. The only tags I have came from either airlines or hotels, so what I have on my luggage varies depending on what tag was to hand at the time I stick it on. I don't think it matters much what you tag it with, as long as it gets tagged.
