I have an Amex Premium card.Part of the deal was to get 2 passes each year to the Qantas Club, last year was fine and I used them.I have just booked another flight and was told by Amex call centre staff(an Australian in Australia!)that they take 6-8 weeks to process.I fly out on the 2nd August, has anyone ever received them earlier?

I did have an issue in getting the QC passes when I first applied for the card last year but everything is OK now. I received the most recent QC passes from Amex on time.

Dont know if we were just lucky but our complimentary QC passes from Amex arrived just over 2 weeks after booking and paying for Qantas flights on our card. Going to be using them in 2 weeks before our long flight from Brisbane to New York.

I took up the Qantas Plat card 17500 point promo earlier this year. I made my qualifying Qantas purchase in May. I was told in June that they could 'see' in the system that the QP passes had been ordered. They are yet to turn up.

Try calling them again. My call was answered in Melbourne by real Australian operators and [sounded like] they had good visibility on their system of what stage the process was at.

As a matter of interest they also tried to dib on the 10,000 points sign up bonus...took 1 call to their call centre and the points posted in the next billing cycle.

Just a quick q about the amex premium QP passes - are they restricted to use by the card holder only? or can i give a pass to mrs bacchus to use?

cheers.

The QP invitation pass admits the holder of the pass into the lounge, so yes, Mrs B is allowed to use it.

The accompanying letter that came with our invitations states that they may be gifted to friends/family etc but the holder of the invitation must be travelling on the day of use.

To JohnK: I received the 2 QC passes the next day! Will have a 6 hour stopover in BNE next Saturday so I can relax in comfort. Thank you :D
