Qantas Club questions

The only PP lounge in MEL is the UA one in T2 (International) - it is open daily for a few hours from Mid morning until the UA flight departs.

New opening hours! From Priority Pass:
Please note the United Club located in Terminal 2 (International) has amended its opening times effective 01OCT2012:-
08:30 – 16:00 & 22:00 – 00:30 daily.

So now it's open most of the day, and late evenings.

sorry if this is not a good question - my 1st post, but is it better value to buy membership with points or $

Welcome to AFF! I'm posting from my phone so not sure how many points it costs to join but if it is like all the other non-flying redemptions, it's probably a dreadful use of points unless you've a few squillion of them lying around doing nothing. I'm sure someone will chime in with the figures, if not I will check when I get home. :)

Just checked how many points they want, and as I said above, unless you have oodles of them lying around that you cannot otherwise use, do it with cash. You can join the AFF corporate scheme and get a discounted membership, but you have become a Gold member of AFF to do it ($50 per year) - you still end up getting the QF club membership maybe one or two hundred dollars cheaper for a 2 year membership, not sure of the exact figures these days.

Joining Qantas Club under AFF corporate scheme, how long does processing etc. take?
I'm flying to SYD late next week wondering if I will be able to use the lounge for that flight.

Joining on here - I decided last minute at about 7pm or later and had a 6 am flight the next day - it was set up and ready to be used for the morning flight. They issued me a temp card at that first lounge visit and I will have the real card in time for the next flights.
Its probably better not to leave it so late but the point is that it can happen just about as quick as you need it.

I have sent Admin a PM about your request
Will depend if he or support? is available.

We generally phone through your details to Qantas by the next Business day after receiving your application. Qantas generally process your application/renewal immediately. You generally receive your Welcome Pack (with QF Club card) in about 2 weeks. You don't need your card to access domestic lounges - your boarding pass (which has your QF Club membership printed on it) will get you entry to domestic lounges immediately.

So generally speaking, send us the form on the Monday, we phone the details to Qantas on the Tuesday, and you can access domestic lounges by the Wednesday. You can access international lounges once you receive your card - usually in about 2 weeks after application.
