Well as it happens it was a B767-300 service (VH-OGF). My seat was 5K and of course the recliner and foot rest didn't work, They were all out of Diet Coke and Solo, and the over head TV screens were all fuzzy.

Initial thought (doing all my travel Ex-PER, and in Y) was it's only a short flight.

However you paid good money, and a premium at that. Not to have those basic drink selections, and to experience those hard product shortfalls - I could understand if there was some disappointment.

Had it been another month you would have been celebrating that aircrafts 20 year birthday, perhaps celebrating is the wrong word? Qantas have a few extra old birds flying thanks to the delays with the newer aircraft on order, its does not make for a premium experience, but i would rather be on a 20 year old QF plane than some younger aircraft from other airlines.

That is logic that is very hard to disagree with. ;)

+1

If they are 20 years old and haven't fallen out of the sky yet at least you know they can get the job done.

That being said, I still like that new plane smell, anyone know where I can get a bottle, Boeing field maybe;)
