In August this year I booked a return fare BNE - LAX. Change of plans. I called the contact centre about cancellation fees and credit voucher terms and conditions. I was helpfully advised that the voucher is valid for 12 months from the original booking date. Subsequently, I cancelled the trip and received an email confirming the cancellation and creation of a credit voucher. Interestingly the email stated the credit voucher was valid up to my travel date, 3 November 2016.
Today I logged into MMB and discovered the voucher had disappeared, panic ensued. Following a quick on-line chat (OLC) the matter was resolved because I was able to provide the booking reference (ref). The agent couldn’t find the ref and advised me to “treasure” it.
Admittedly I was a tad anxious and requested OLC while trawling all qantas emails for the right ref. I could’ve simply searched for it in the MMB section. However I got the impression that this was a known issue. Has anyone else had a similar issue?
Lesson 1 - Don’t panic if you have the ref and search the MMB section.
