Qantas Customers on Jetstar Operated Flights (Is Qantas Service Included?)

Bait and switch is bait and switch, who can be reasonably expected to wade through fine print that only frequent flyers would understand....

How can they justify selling JQ fares for more than QF ones without inclusions, more importantly stack them all together as if they are the same product then hide some exclusions in size 6 font at the bottom that wont normally show up any way until people scroll down to continue.....gotcha!

The problems seems to be when you select a ticket/itinerary that involves both QF and JQ. If you select a solely JQ itinerary it simply takes you to the Jetstar website and it is all very obvious what you have to pay extra for. If you have an itinerary including both JQ & QF it books it through the normal QF channel and it is far less transparent what you do and do not get on Jetstar.

I have purchased an economy ticket from Sydney to Tokyo with Qantas, but the flight is a JQ.
Does it mean I will have no meal, blanket, pillow... etc provided for the 10 hours? :(

I have paid a Qantas price, and am a bit concern that I will receive Jetstar quality service.
It would be quite upsetting if I need to purchase everything while onboard. :(

The flight numbers are JQ402, and then connecting to JQ11.
i did some random searches on different dates/months...they all seem to show the JQ404/11 flights at a few hundred dollars CHEAPER than the QF21 flight..so am interested to know what price you paid!...also to me it seems quite clearly stated that there is no codeshare...so your paying for a JQ flight so expect JQ product/service...i cant see any deception/misleading info...why didnt you book the QF21??

If you want to state that the JQ flights shouldn't be on the Qantas website, then shouldn't be be applied across the board and then say no AA, AZ, SQ, EK, BA, AY, AB, UA etc etc flights on the Qantas site too.

Which would be a reasonable point except for the fact that selecting pure JQ flights from the QF website kicks you onto the JQ website. I assume that doesn't happen with BA for example. QF also sells codeshare flights on those other airlines, unlike for JQ domestic.

Those other airlines also significantly expand the QF network to places that are not accessible on QF. The same cannot be said of JQ domestic and a number of JQ international destinations.

IMHO, that is a good thing, at least then it is extremely clear what you can expect to pay for and what you get on JQ, also gives the opportunity to purchase a plus bundle to accrue points/SCs etc. When JQ are booked on an itinerary through the QF website the information available is much more oblique, and could easily lead to confusion to the uninformed (ie the majority of the world outside the AFF community!).

it's not really the same, the JQ flights are ambiguous - click on JQ7 for example in a mixed booking and it takes you to a table of inclusions (food, ife, baggage etc) under the QF flight number (no mention of exclusions if on JQ flight number).

Then you have the caveat emptor at the bottom of the page that neatly sits out of view until you scroll down to continue. It truly is lipstick on a pig.

It wasn't a comment on good or bad. It's a reason to not show JQ flights. As is everything you mention in your post.
