Aren't the flights with best schedule and cheapest J class, the CI A330 flights ex-BNE .
I suppose they are if you happen to want to go on one of three flights a week at lunchtime

Hmm, hope our March flights are safe.
There is 1 aviation market for Australia NZ airlines:- no restrictions for operations. IIRC some years ago Virgin Blue New Zealand operated a SYD MEL flight on Wednesday's about noon with NZ crew. Most NZ aircraft (QF, JQ, VA & Air NZ) a tend to return to NZ within ~60/90 minutes turnaround with the same crew. I think some Aust-Fiji flights (VA?) are by NZ aircraft (need to check). Very few overnight. So what happens with these aircraft? A lot of time spent on ground? They are NZ registered so are they allowed to work in the aus market with aus crews or will they just spend a lot more time parked??
To avoid the Emirates clashes I'd like to have seen them try something like ...
AKL-SYD-ADL-SYD-AKL
CHC-SYD-PER-SYD-CHC
AKL-BNE-CNS-BNE-AKL
... operating from the international terminals. Not only would this give better NZ-ADL,PER and CNS options, it would also save a terminal transfer for other international connections for ADL,PER,CNS travellers.
Do the words "Chauffer Drive" connote anything ?
Mobile ovens?
Poo...
I have so many QF bookings on QF flights this year and they have not even started emailing me the changes.
Guess I have to go into MMB and accept changes.
They don't indeed bleeding care.

Old news. The flow these days is the other way with the NZ economy growing strongly.Isn't the problem caused by they only sell one way tickets to Australia?
last one there turn the lights off
I'd hold off before you start accepting changes (if there are any). For something that's just been announced, it's very unlikely you'll hear about changes right away for bookings later on in the year.
For one I'd wait to see what the change policy is as it may work out better for you (TT on a 380 for example instead of a 320 perhaps).
Just cool your jets;-)
why would anyone fly QF to AKL anyway when you can fly the EK A380
Firstly, isn't this a violation of the ACCC approval to partner with EK trans-Tasman?
Secondly, what are they going to do with the leftover Jetconnect aircraft? A CBR-AKL service perhaps?
So do quite a few I expect. I think we are safe as our flight is on Friday so we have a bit of flexibility.Hope I get to dinner on time next March
Elderly J seats? I was under hte impression that the Jetconnect aircraft were not particulalry old - only a few years. What is wrong with the seats?I have done the SYD-AUK-SYD trip this week in J on the Qantas (Jet Connect) service and do it regularly. The service level provided by Jet Connect is generally very good which makes up for the tired/elderly J seats with no leg room and for the limited IES. I will not fly DeathStar and EK does not fly when I need to so if my flights are affected it will be a downgrade to AirNZ for me.
