Impressive recovery given length of flight etc to still be able to operate the Austin-Dallas leg. Duty time must have been looonnngggg for the operating crew.QF7 (B789 VH-ZNA) was diverted to Austin at 16:45 CDT Friday 45 minutes after it was due in Dallas. It landed in Austin at 17:26 CDT, and just over an hour later at 18:32 CDT, took off for Dallas, arriving at 19:25 CDT, 3 hours 25 minutes late.
While that delay ate into the 6 hour 50 minute normal on ground time at Dallas, Qantas flight status shows only a 45 minute delay for the departure of the return QF8 at 23:10 CDT Friday, and no onward delay (as yet) for today's QF8 [CDT].
It hit over 20 but the crew elected to keep working.Duty time must have been looonnngggg for the operating crew.
Great outcome. Normally a diversion on this route is a nightmare to recover given crew normally time out and can only take the onward sector 24 hrs later. It hit over 20 but the crew elected to keep working.
Sunday : Saturday's QF8 pushed back just 20 minutes late at 22:45 CDT, and was in the air at 23:01 CDT - last Dallas departure for this US DST season. The flight is still on the ground according to Qantas Flight Status, so no update on Sydney arrival time, although the flight tracker sites anticipate an on time arrival.QF7 (B789 VH-ZNA) was diverted to Austin at 16:45 CDT Friday 45 minutes after it was due in Dallas. This Monday flight was operated by B789 VH-ZNC, with actual departure delay of 54 minutes , and arrival delay of 42 minutes. The probable flow-on flight, QF75 SYD-YVR is showing a 30 minute delay for a 20:55 AEDT Sydney departure this evening, and an estimated arrival in Vancouver at 15:50 PST Monday, a 25 minute delay.
Affirmative - for example QF55 (VH-EBO) on Wednesday was 51 minutes late arriving in LA, but left on time as QF16 that same evening. Can someone tell me how the A 330 flights work between Brisbane and Lax please ? As in, does the QF 55 that arrives at 530 pm turn around and fly back 3 hrs later as QF16? I only ask in this thread as imagine if same plane was used there is chance for many delays
Sunday : With B789 VH-ZNG still 'stuck' in Los Angeles, today's QF11 SYD-LAX has been cancelled. No easy options for booked passengers - either a 24 hour delay for tomorrow morning's A388 flight, or 35 hours until the evening B789 QF17 flight.Friday : it seems the Wednesday evening Los Angeles departure of QF12 LAX-SYD (B789 VH-ZNG) was cancelled, with passengers either being transferred to the Thursday morning QF18 (B789 VH-ZNB) with a 10 hour delay, or the Thursday evening A338 operated QF12 with at least a 24 hour delay.
