Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Since the 31/7, ZNM has only operated on QF5/6. Tonight no exception, as it departs back to FCO, delayed after the late inbound due to diversion to DXB.

There is an 8hr delay on QF9 tonight. ZNK, arrived in SYD as QF28 tonight, is positioning to MEL, indicating a problem with the operating aircraft, ZNE.

It's disgusting the way QANTAS is booking flights and then having high cancellation rate - particularly on Canberra <-> Sydney run. Of course no authority will do anything about it because all governments are happy to turn a blind eye towards the "national carrier".

QF11 to LAX was delayed by 1 hour this morning, and just flew ultralow over Mosman on departure. It looked pretty cool!

I hate life. Work sent me to the US via economy, I have just managed to claw back silver status from personal travel as I didn't travel during covid etc. The connecting Qantas flight QF94 is delayed until midnight by 1:40h, my MasterCard flight delay pass only kicks in with a 2hr delay, Qantas doesn't accept my lounge pass at LAX, Amex doesn't accept my Amex at LAX as it's not high enough status and they won't even let me buy a day pass, my United lounge pass is not accepted as I'm not flying with them or a codeshare, I have 10+hours in the airport and a turn tendon (I had special assistance sorted both ways but they ran out of chairs so told me to limp with my cane), arghhhh /F. I cannot even use my points to upgrade my seat to business (I have 1m+ points) as everything is fully booked. First World problems but life sucks.

QF 11 just rolling off the gate a cool 2.5 hours late, despite the aircraft having sat on the ground for 24 hours.

Yesterday's (28/8) QF25 (SYD-HND) delayed until 1300 today, then delayed again to 1530. Due into HND at 2345. Looks to be returning as QF80 (HND-MEL) which has yet to be delayed a second time (still showing out at 2235).

Edit: QF80 tonight (29/8) has been delayed again to 0130 on 30/8.

I didn't realise they've been down-gauging QF25 to an A332 on some days. Anyway, it seems like recently QF25 has been delayed till the next day almost once a week. Meanwhile, NH880, NH890, and JL52 have never been delayed overnight as far as I can tell in the last 6 months.

QF25 delays spurred me to create an AFF account just to post about this! 🙃
Is it just me, or are Japan flights disrupted a lot?

It's pretty crazy, in the thread it was speculated that QF25 is simply the easiest flight to delay as it only disrupts the outbound and the return can come back (mostly) on time. It has to be a pretty savage delay for passengers though, I hope they get hotels!

I saw a Qantas A380 at LAX on 30 April 2017 parked with all the passenger doors open.

I think that this was VH-OQC, which I understand hit a serious turbulence issue that day.

Is it possible to confirm this

MTIA

QF76 is delayed overnight. Also A380 is being subbed in for the 787 on QF35/36 this week (Mon-Wed at this stage) due to ZNH being in for repairs after being damaged on the ground in MEL.

Heaps of delays this morning at SYD. ATC just changing to west departures only due to bad weather. QF413 down to depart northerly has to roll-up again to depart westwards for instance
