Qantas Delays/Cancellations

QF43 28/11 Original departure of 1630 now estimated at 2220 (allegedly on Final Call at 2250 - listed as departed 2258 or 2259 - wheels up around 2327)
QF44 28/11 Original departure of 2120 now 29/11 at 0310 (subject to above)

Sydney airport is currently closed due to storms. A few flights have had to go around, with the start of some diversions like QF144 (VH-XZM) AKL-SYD currently diverting to CBR.

Just dropped some family visiting from overseas off at BNE, their QF529 diverted to Newcastle. But QF11 delayed by 4+ hours might help them still get home.

I have two team members flying from CBR to LAX via Sydney today.

One was scheduled to connect via MEL, Qantas cancelled that and put her on a direct Sydney flight this morning. Then bumped her until 4pm this afternoon but now that’s delayed further due to the weather.

Thankfully QF11 is already pushed back 4 hours today, but if she misses QF11 because Qantas moved her off not only the earlier flight we’d booked but the subsequent earlier flight they moved her onto this morning we’ll be mightily upset.

The odds are get ready to be upset!

Qantas moved her onto a SYD flight that was supposed to leave earlier, but now they’ve boarded 2 different flights to SYD including the one she was just moved off and she’s still sitting on the ground in CBR, 11 hours after the flight we actually booked should have left.

QF11 got pushed even further back to 10pm, which was a blessing for us as both team members should now manage to get on the flight.

Their connection from LAX is another problem of course...

QF29 & 30 HKG MEL delayed again on QPF (01/12)

QF 29 took off at 1323, arrived at 1917 instead of 1105 with arrival at 1735

QF30 return in consequence took off almost 2 hrs later at 2111 instead of 1930, now ETA at 0849 instead of 0745

The 333 fleet is just stretched too thin as shown by all the delays on VH-OPA in the last few days.

QF87 and QF88 on 30/11 delayed 2 hrs
QF59 on 1/12 delayed 3 hours
QF60 on 1/12 delayed 3 hours
Then flew as QF6001 to BNE to operate QF51 on 2/12 with a 4-5 hour delay, returning as QF36 with a 3 hour delay.
Flew as QF6002 to SYD on 3/12 to operate a QF25 which was delayed by 15 hours, return QF26 also delayed 16 hours.

This situation is not ideal and I fear it will spread during this holidays season

Delayed on QF30 back to MEL. At least I found out before heading to HKIA. At the very least they could have offered to open the flight at scheduled time for bag drop off so I could go to the Pier.

Your flight is scheduled to land at HKIA @ 2137 on QPB - operating QF127 from SYD

@Melburnian1 looks like these delays are getting more frequent on HKG services again…
