Qantas Delays/Cancellations

And following on from the above, I see that VH-QPA operating QF19 SYD-MNL today 7/12 has been delayed by 8 hours!

This is getting more and more ridiculous on the A330 fleet… and I fear it’s going to be more frequent ahead

For those wondering - QF A330 fleet is definitely NOT reliable - QF 29 (07/12) on QPI departed 1258 instead of 1105 - now scheduled to arrive at 1854 instead of 1735.

The flight was NOT delayed inbound to Melbourne this morning operated QF30 from HKG - so this must be more of the age of the fleet issue!!
This aircraft became the 128 to SYD, took off at 2159 -2.5 hrs behind and now scheduled to arrive at 1002 instead of 0730

QF33 and 34 cancelled 11/12 December (if that makes sense- PER-CDG leg cancelled on 11th CDG-PER cancelled on the 12th). Reason unknown possibly due to a shortage of 787

A220 dispatch reliability issues continue with QF1517 MEL-LST delayed by 15 minutes. Hopefully not the start of a rolling delay 🫠
(Morgan freeman voice) “it was the start of a rolling delay”
Now delayed by 30 minutes

Given it arrived in LST from SYD almost an hour late and made up no time on the turnaround, one would surmise it will leave an hour late

tomlee1986, I am overseas hence the lack of posts but thank you for monitoring so many flights.

My other half flying to AKL today has just been cancelled. QF153, meant to leave MEL at 9.20 am. She had to get up at 4.00 am to get to LST for the early flight to MEL. Arrived, sitting in T2 lounge, now being kicked out of terminal and told to collect baggage. Re-booked 18.50 pm.

I'm slightly amazed at how Qantas are handling the above cancellation. I very seldom fly international so perhaps I'm just an innocent! They kick all the Pax out of the international terminal, complete with baggage, but then they can't check back in until 3 hours prior to the re-booked 18.50 flight. Business class ticket and forced to sit around for four hours loaded down with luggage. How do you even visit the toilet with a couple of large bags?

Pax on QF728 taking the scenic route from SYD to AYQ this morning, travelling via ASP. Rather than being an en route diversion the flight appears to have tracked direct to ASP from SYD.

I don't understand why they would kick you out of the international terminal if they've rebooked you to a new international flight on the same day.

I had a MEL-SIN flight cancelled in 2019 and was moved to another flight. I had to go back through ABF, but that's because I was rebooked via SYD (to HND) and had to go back to T1 for the MEL-SYD flight. The other pax were rebooked to EK MEL-SIN and anyone who was already airside stayed there.

QF41 also appears to have been delayed for 24 hours, and QF43 is delayed 4 hours.

QF43/44 now changed to a 333 (was 332).

Tomorrow's QF43/44 also already delayed by 1hr 50min.

Looks like EBB has fallen ill in SYD after ferrying over from MEL resulting in the 24h delay for QF41.

There is also a 5-hour delay on the QF29 today resulting in a 1am departure for QF128 back to SYD from HKG tonight.

I totally agree and am in the process of writing a complaint to Qantas. My partner had to spend four hours sitting with her luggage before they would let her check in again. The trip was meant to be a birthday present. I booked her business to make it a nice trip. Reality is she landed in MEL at 7.20 am and is still there (7.13 pm) after multiple cancellations and changes. Current arrival is 1.35 am tomorrow.
Delays are forgivable, stuff happens. How they are dealt with is totally within the control of the airline and I am not happy.
