Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Sunday 9 March's QF62 from NRT to BNE had class leader A333 VH-QPA.

This 2000 hours flight took off at 2015 but on Monday 10 diverted to CNS, from which it took off at 0713 hours for BNE arrival at 0911 hours, 61 minutes late.

It then operated empty from BNE down to SYD, becoming airborne at 1137 and arriving at 1352 hours.

The delay is hitting QF87, the 1130 hours SYD-ICN altered to depart at a projected 1540 hours.

On Sunday 16 March, A333 VH-QPE arrived in SYD at 0624 hours, 31 early as QF42 from CGK.

It then formed an empty flight down to MEL, QF6007, an 0830 hours that took off at 0907 hours, arriving at gate at 1026 hours, 45 minutes behind schedule.

It is now operating QF79, the 0925 hours MEL-NRT that was airborne at 1235 hours with gate arrival estimated as 2036 hours, 161 minutes late. In turn QF80, the 1920 hours NRT-MEL overnighter will also be tardy.

Whether this is related to another aircraft failing I don't know, but having these 'ferry' flights to form a delayed international service seems fairly common with QFi. The alternative explanation is yet another case of QFi lacking sufficient aircraft for its many destinations and trying to do too much with too few birds.

A332 VH-EBO is on QF37, the 16 March 1655 hours second of the day for QFi's MEL-SIN: airborne at 1924 with gate arrival suggested as 2350 hours local time,. 105 minutes behind its timetable.

QF30 was cancelled last night and the aircraft is still in HKG (QPD)

On Tuesday 18 March 2025, QF93 (1200 'high noon' MEL-LAX) has B789 VH-ZNI.

The flight is badly delayed for a third consecutive day, with takeoff at 1432 and same day gate arrival likely at 1019 hours, 119 minutes late.

Also on 18 March, QF73, the mid evening 2125 hours SYD-SFO B789 has been cancelled, so QF74 of the same date will also be.

FR24 suggests VH-QPD is tonight operating empty as QF6010, a planned 1830 hours departure from HKG to SYD.

QF104 due 18/3 into SYD arrived 12 hours late at 0622 on the 19/3. VH-ZNH.

Also the QF81/82 has been operated by a 787 last few days.

In a further Wednesday 19 March 2025 delay, QF19, the lunchtime 1205 hours SYD up to MNL is rescheduled to depart at 2055 this evening.

'The 20' is showing as departing MNL at the unseeemly hour of 0340 on Thursday 20, 500 minutes late.

A332 VH-EBR is on the 19 March QF81 from SYD to SIN with gate arrival said to be 1711 late this afternoon, 41 minutes tardy.

Class leader A333 VH-QPA is operating QF67, the 0930 hours SYD-BLR airborne at 1148. It has diverted to Adelaide, with departure from there estimated as 1510, exactly the time I am writing this. I don't know if someone on board became ill, or whether it was a fault with the aircraft. The 1740 hours overnight flight, QF68 from BLR down to SYD is likely to be at least three hours late departing.
