Qantas did something right! [Fixed Multi-City booking Form Reset]

The problem of some Airports not being loaded / available to some QF searches as origins has been around for yonks if not forever. (there are dozens of them in the USA for example - potential AA seats)

If I can't get the QF site to find it, or search errors out, I do a search for reward seat availability on BA and add it to my written list of desired sectors dates times flight numbers and seat allocations and call up and spoon feed the operator slowly and deliberately to make or amend the booking for me. Because it can't be done on line (just quote the error code) there is no point -penalty.

Given the level of non-expertise with some operators you have to spoon-feed it like you would a kindergarten kid and double check getting them to read back each sector details as they add/change it.

What if the one way search tool shows completely different availability and in that case which one is accurate?
I guess I’ll have to cross check everything with EF 🤷‍♂️
Which ones successfully get through to the booking page?

This is indeed a welcome development! :)

In case anyone from Qantas comes across this thread, here are a few other fixes to the multi-city booking tool that would be great:

  • When you're not logged in and try to search for Classic Reward flights, it gives you the option to input your search criteria and enter your frequent flyer login details at the bottom of the page. But when you click "log in and search flights" it logs you in but doesn't start searching. You then have to refresh the page and try doing your search again. (At least it now retains your search information - so you don't have to manually re-enter everything!)
  • It would be great if you didn't get an error message whenever you search for Classic Flight Rewards originating in DXB
  • Make it possible to search for flights originating in TPE
  • Make it possible to include airports such as VTE, MPM or GBE in your search
  • Make it possible to end a sector in airports such as HAN, PNH, DAD or BKI
  • Make it possible to view the taxes & carrier charges on an award booking you've found using the multi-city tool, even if you don't yet have enough points in your account to book that itinerary. (I suspect this is a "feature" rather than a bug, but there's really no reason that this information should be hidden?)
⬆️ plus make it possible to connect to Canberra from some other Australian arrival city in BOTH directions, not just one

Do a one-way or return flight search, rather than using the multi-city tool. Or, add a dummy flight from somewhere else as Flight 1 and the flight departing Dubai as Flight 2 in your multi-city search.
And then do you have to call to make the actual booking that you want? They have totally conditioned me to fear calling them.

If it's a multi-city booking that originates in Dubai, then sadly, yes you need to call.

(I also hate it as I've had several of the folks in CPT tell me over the years there was no availability on EK, even though their counterparts in HBA could easily see and book it when I HUACA'd.)

Yep, that's what I thought! Arghhhhhhhhh.
