It a tough market out there...just released
Qantas Domestic Bliss sale SYDMEL $69, SYDBNE $65 plus more.
I cant remember QF prices that low 4 a long while .Travel late Mar til before Easter then late April all the way thru mid Sep....INCLUDING JULY SCHOOL HOLS

Some very good prices there, even ADL-MEL for $55 is around what the LCC want.

I didn't read the email but I saw the airfares last night and I could not believe how low they were for Qantas. I wish I could book my flights through to the end of August for my weekly commute SYD-BNE but there is some uncertainty and who knows the airfares may even get lower....

This could well be like driving past cheap tuesday petrol and then needing to fill the tank on Thurs. I'd get in now (have already grabbed some to MEL for a couple of AFL/foodie weekends) for the odd change you need make the leadin on BNE is still sub $90.
The thing I like about the QF sales, whilst they wont go as low as others,
there is usually more sale avail than the others plus I still get the benefits of Lounge and no baggage fee etc for the cheap price..all the saving go towards dinners at some of my fav eateries in MEL like MoMo which reopens this week..yum

I think at this stage it would be wise to limit the booking to end of May. Anything further and I have locked down flights I may want to change later.

Some of those prices are really good; one fare I had been looking at is now 40% cheaper than it was yesterday.

Is there a way to tell the booking class before the final step? I doubt they are upgradeable, but might as well find out if possible. I did a search of the forums as I remembered something about the source code, but I could only find a thread from last year that said it was no longer possible. Just checking if this is still the case?
Thanks,
Jon

If you cliick the fare type icon at the top you will know if the are upgradeable or not. In the case of domestic sales case they are generally not.

Other than that you can ascertain the booking class as described in this post:

Thanks for that. They appear not to be eligible, which was in line with my expectations. Can now get my flights for brisbane in may.

Interesting marketing effect. People whom were going to be buying tickets at the higher prices are now getting them cheaper - provided they pay and commit well in advance.

I know that I am talking about value airfares to just about everyone I talk to in conversations these days. The good value fares are making it a good year for travel.

Trouble accessing QF website

Anyone else having trouble accessing the QF website, in partic. booking page?
thanks

My appologies DJ have responded but havent matched the first travel period as yet and have blocked out Jul hols..pricing on SYDMEL is only $4 less than QF but extras like bags'n stuff take the price north of QF..is this a first QF sale price cheaper than DJ? That 100 plus Million loss may be behind this more rational response...sign of the times

Travel Between: 28 Apr 09 - 25 Jun 09 On sale until: midnight 02 Mar 09 or sold out

God stated that they were going to "ground" those extremely discount fares...perhaps not launching into the sales first..and not offer low prices on sales etc..

Without doubt come back to bite them with JQ/QF offering fares alot lower. As of 2.23pm, Qantas has made one of the top stories on news.com.au for offering $55 fares...

Launching this sale on the same day as VB staffers are watching the VA launch - beautiful strategic work.

perhaps an example how companies can be distracted by other events.

Some nice new fares are out, seems like there are some creative ways to make it to Platinum.

8 flights = 8,000 miles. 90scs = $330.92 16 Round trips = $5294.72 to get 1440 SCs.

Ok; ok; I will stop dreaming and go back to work.

Yes I know; thanks for the suggestion, but did you notice how cheap it as got.

The machine adds all the segments together like adds $95 + $88 + $75 + $109 and then it calculates it all up and spits out $330.92, I wish my bills could all work like that. ;)

Have just booked SYD-CBR-MEL-SYD for a quick MR in early April.

$160 all inc and all booked into O class...
