Hello fellow travelers.

On the QFF site it records the following

"Customers holding tickets for travel within Australia and internationally now have the ability to cancel their booking and retain the full value of the booking as a Qantas Flight Credit for a limited time only.1"

I am wondering exactly what this means??

I have booked a SYD--AMS Business class (out 26.05.2020) return 09.06.2020.

I need this as a double status point flight to retain platinum. Will Qantas give me "the full value of the booking..." or will it be reduced to a standard credit?

Any thoughts--I know what they should honour---i.e., exactly what they say---"retain full value".

Regards

If it is QF codeshare on EK, surely that is not eligible for DSC.
That's what I was thinking, if it isn't operated by QF then it isn't earning DSCs. (Assuming the DSC offer the OP booked under is the recent one that was open to all and not a targeted promotion with different T&Cs.)

Or perhaps s/he has booked SYD-SIN-LHR-AMS or SYD-PER-LHR-AMS?

Don't worry about it, for now.

QF will, to continue engage its usually high value members, have to do something about all those individuals who will lose status purely because of the current dire situation. You're not alone, so there will be a plan at some point to deal with this issue. At the moment they're focussed on the survival of the company in the short term and sorting out the mess that has been caused by demand dropping off a cliff.

I agree that you shouldn't worry about retaining DSC promotion. I'm sure QF will be implementing status extensions, alternatively issuing status credits gratis a la CX, at some point. As for DSCs, I'd expect that once this is all over, QF will have appropriate promotions in place to encourage bookings.

Don't forget, possibly unrealistcally so that you may still be able to take these flights. Best of luck. I've got a couple booked myself for same reasons.

To the OP... check your email for a nice surprise from QF. :)
