Qantas double status credits: Register & book between 12-18 March 2025

I’m making a list of about 20 DSC questions that I may post, instead of bothering to read the T&C. That way, fellow-AFFers could perhaps answer them while I kick back at the pub.

I think you've made that point ... maybe 4 times now? The DSC T&Cs are mostly poorly written and ambiguous, so I don't see a problem with those less experienced in the art to come here for help, even if the answer is 'obvious'. Giving help is a large part of what AFF is for.

Sorry I am just ever more confused now 😳
Are you saying that if i need to change in 3 months (non eligible new booking date) a booking I made now (eligible booking date) but still in the eligible travelling period, the DSC will not apply?
Not clear in the T&C.
Crystal clear in the Ts&Cs. What actually happens … ask @DC3 😉

Given that the purpose of this thread is to help each other, including those that are less experienced with trying to understand the poorly worded Qantas T&C's - why don't you just go back to bed and come back on the 19th of March? Surely at some stage you too have received some help from this forum?

Its ok, there's T&C and then there's T&C. We just need to figure out which T&C it is.

So, the recommended best route is OOL-MEL-AKL-MEL-OOL. But how do we find this availability with this price point? When using the QANTAS tool it just gives you any and all options to get between point and A and B, then back.

Just booked OOL-MEL-AKL-MEL in J for $1.7k netting 560 status credits. Booked for October as more of a safety net if I think I am going to be short, otherwise can cancel for a minimal fee refund.
How did you manage to find that MrBlake?

I used google flights to find that price point before booking direct on Qantas. There is no direct OOL-AKL on Qantas so it should give you options either via Sydney or Melbourne.

Excellent advice. That makes alot more sense. I can find it on Google Flights - hooray! However, I can't find it on QANTAS. There appears to be a flight out for $883 but it doesn't show on the actual page. Did you book over the phone?

Booked via website - you may need to be flexible with dates to get that price as you can imagine its getting a lot of DSC demand which is emptying out the cheap fare buckets

The report is all very well if you can travel at times the fares are offered. As business traveller I have to fly at specific times so the fares specified are not usually available. But then someone else is paying so who am I to complain!

Enjoy your DSCs!

Slightly connected to the spirit of the DSC promo so apologies if there is another relevant thread.

My status renews in September ‘25 and I’ve enough SC already to retain Gold until Sep ‘26.
If I take up the DSC promo flying next month, I would then get the required SC to tip me into Platinum.
My question is would the Platinum commence say June ‘25 (after flights completed and sufficient SC) or would it commence at the beginning of my ‘25 / ‘26 QFF year?
Appreciate any feedback.

Immediately once you hit 1400 SC. You'll be Platinum for the remainder of the current membership year, and all of next membership year.
