I read the October DSC thread a few days ago to prepare, and someone commented that they received DSC on an old flight credit that they used during the October DSC period for a new booking.Does anybody have more clarity on outback PNR recycles and these new terms and conditions? It's still not clear to me how they'll work for route changes.
Same questions everytime there is a DSC I think.Or T&Cs
I've just taken a flight using a recycled PNR on a new sector so I'll be interested to see if it comes through over the coming days.I read the October DSC thread a few days ago to prepare, and someone commented that they received DSC on an old flight credit that they used during the October DSC period for a new booking.
So it sounds like Qantas may have the capability to differentiate between the flight credit creation date and new flight booking date. But whether they have implemented it to stop the outback strategy is unclear.
Can't cancel and rebook?I had to book flights to LHR last week. There goes an extra 260 SCs
I thought that it went by AEDST, not UTC. If someone could confirm, that would be great.Even though the T&Cs say AEDT in practice QF’s computer systems run on UTC. If you book before midnight UTC on the opening day of the promo you may find the DSC do not automatically credit. You can request them but QF would want to see the e-ticket and boarding passes and for you to wait the time specified in the T&Cs that the DSCs may take to credit before contacting QF to get it sorted.
When you tried to change the flights, could you see availability for a lower price if you were to make a new booking?I've just taken a flight using a recycled PNR on a new sector so I'll be interested to see if it comes through over the coming days.
It's actually quite frustrating because during the last DSC period I booked a number of MEL -> BNE flights in J and when I tried to move them due to other travel commitments, they tried to hit me with a new fare almost $1000 higher than the old one (the old one was $604).
That was regardless of how far in the future I tried to move the flight, so I put that back into a flight credit. It'll be highly inconvenient if this is a new thing for QF moving forward.

If so, this may be a situation where you have to call and have them make them change. Similar to using a credit for a new booking - the lowest fares do not always show when rebooking.

Corporate booking, so bit of expense and also gets a bit messy from an optics perspective. Can't cancel and rebook?
Ok, how do I get that routing to show on that other airlines site? Are you using multi city?A PC status run out of MEL thanks to a little quirk of another airline's award program (who may be having a miles sale atm).
Make sure you book for a guest so you can change the FF number to your Qantas one. Otherwise, it gets locked to the other airline's program.

I will never get bored of AFF DSC threads being 50% questions from posters who haven't bothered reading the T&C or any other thread posts, and 50% questions from posters who read absolutely everything and obsess over tweaked T&C clauses and potential interpretations. Such polar opposites, and total chaos every single time.
Just received it an hour ago(Edit) Received email at 10am AEDT today.
Always Fly First and Don't Suggest (e)Conomy? What does AFF and DSC mean in this context?![]()
