Qantas employs CC

More interesting perhaps is they're advertising for a LAX Duty Manager, with a key aspect of the job being:

  • Effective, regular communication of changes for new policies, procedures, products and general operational information to all staff;

That might be useful.

And a BNE lounge manager

Why do most job adverts withhold the salary figure? If they can't be bothered to tell me what the rate is, I usually don't apply.

I would relocate myself to California and work alongside the existing manager for as many weeks as it took, at my expense, in order to get this job or one like it

Unless something has changed then surely the most interesting thing here is that QCCA are asking for applicants for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane bases. I was under the impression that QCCA only operated on the A380 and that the 747 and 330 were staffed by legacy Qantas crew. Has that changed? If not why do QCCA need a Brisbane base? Maybe for the coming 787?

I believe QAL has not employed any CC since early 2000s. All new long haul international CC originating from AU now employed under QCCA banner.

QF will no longer employ anyone under QAL banner as the costs of employment there is significantly higher being the legacy from a bygone era.

I have been told by a little bird that QCCA still get a better package than their VA counterparts.

you just answered your own question ....think about it!! although I doubt the penny will drop for you:shock::rolleyes::lol:

Interesting comment, why would you assume that?

Money isn't everything. However it's a real consideration if you have financial commitments you need to meet. Would you apply for a position knowing you couldn't meet your financial commitments? I doubt it.

That used to be the case but times are changing. There are some QCCA crew now back on 747/330 in SYD/MEL albeit only as CSS.

Brisbane base just opened up as an option as they are short crewed (short haul are currently operating SIN).

The current cabin crew EBA has no provisions for who operates the 787 as that will come up next year in the negotiations.

But I imagine that would be the purpose of having QCCA up in Brisbane to operate the 787 whenever it may start flying from there and have QCCA 787/380 endorsed, but the company has not ruled out QAL crew operating on the 787, but some changes in their conditions will probably be required to gain access to it (not nesscarily pay but seniority and bidding, or more hours)

Sometimes, it can be very difficult to nominate a salary range. The potential candidate can be slotted into slightly different positions and job roles depending on his/her skills, expertise, and experience. They may also be able to offer a higher salary package if they see good value and potential in someone, and vary the package to the candidate's liking.

The failure to show even an indicative salary range is omitting a very important part of the deal.

It's not just QF that does this, but a wide range of employers.

Sounds interesting, although sadly I'm too tall for the job.

Agree. It's a massive nuisance. It's just as annoying as businesses that hide the prices of products. Should be cracked down upon, really.

While some places may not show a salary range, on websites like seek you can work out roughly what the employer is thinking.
