so this Qantas Entertainment app has basically stopped working on my iPad. I updated it last week right before I flew out of Perth, so it is the latest version.

I can get the app open, see all the menus, make a selection to start a program and then it goes to start and I just get the 'spinning wheel' as it tries to load up ... If I slide the 'timer' forward, it still doesn't pick up the video. oddly, when I return to the menu screen, it shows up that the program is partly watched and i get the 'resume watching' (or whatever the verbiage is) with the red bar showing the point in the program i 'watched' until.

anyone had similar and got a solution?

the app works fine on my iPhone - so it makes me think it's an issue with my iPad.

Out of storage on the iPad possibly?

Having the same issue - aside I already had it before the latest update.
I have tried everything from deleting the app up to restoring my iPad!!! Nothing worked so far.

iPad is an iPad2 on latest version 10. something and Qantas App is latest version as well.

I am that far that I am considering buying a new iPad because I am sick and tired of not being able to watch movies...

I thought it might have to do with iCloud storrage and the app might store old data in iCloud. Considering I reset my iPad and all settings and only used my old AppStore Account to redownload the app I wouldnt know what else it could be. I tried to delete such but havent worked it quite out yet. If anyone finds a solution please post.

The latest versos of iOS for iPads is iOS 11.4, not 10 point something. You might want to try to update your iOS if your iPad is supported by iOS 11 (based on you describing your iPad as an iPad2 it may be the case that your iPad is now "too old" to be supported by the latest iOS version and is grandfathered at the last iteration of iOS 10).

Hi mate,

yeah it's the latest version with 10.3 or whatever it is. No further updates possible. I checked on the qantas page and it says iPads need to have at least 9.3 so I doubt its because of that and I would assume there are others out there still using and old iPad2 on 10.xx.

I deleted the stored data of 31kb in the iCloud backup - lets see if that helps.

I recently had to to retire my old iPad 2 as it is no longer supported, I suspect that is the problem here. Not sure there is a workaround to cover it.

Tried on my flight to Perth yesterday and still not working. So has nothing to do with deleting iCloud data or the app and reinstalling.

On my phone it still works fine (haven’t updated the app on there)

The update seems to cause the issue as there was an announcement made that several people having issues with the entertainment system not loading as described in this post. (They didn’t mention the update and just said to restart your device what obviously didn’t fix the problem)

So I guess qantas needs to release another update to fix the issue and hopefully it will also fix the same issue with older iPads like the ipad2.

I had this on both ways to Perth last week, saw a few others in the same predicament.

I had this and was told the problem was with the app, not with my ipad.

I am fairly sure there has been an update released in the last day or so

Qantas has released an update on the 11th July 2018

Version 3.0.2 - "Bugs and stability fixes"

I won't be flying for another 2 1/2 weeks but fingers crossed it was what I needed.

Had the same issue with my ipad, IOS 9.3.5. on flight up and back Adl -Darwin 24/7/18.
Updated the app, menu etc ok, Ads before the movie worked, but no movie.
Tried mobile phone worked perfectly.
problem may relate to IOS 9.3.5 even though should be ok.

Despite the problem I had last time, I was able to use the QF app without any difficulty on my iPad 2 on Friday.
