Wow. Good news for your unexpected stopover in Dallas is that it's a decent time of year to visit if you like outdoor activities. There are a few nice parks at Lake Grapevine only a short distance north of the airport (10-15 minutes) if you are staying in an airport hotel. Otherwise you have time to get a hotel in downtown Dallas and see the "grassy knoll" and other historic spots if that's of interest. Good luck - just trying to provide some positive vibes.

Yes they are excited to have this opportunity to visit Dallas. We have booked a tour to Fort Worth and staying downtown at the Fairmont.

Anyone know what the actual problem with ticketing bookings is with QF? I've been impacted a few times now, it seems more a technology thing than a process thing, did something break/go away/change during COVID that causes ticketing/reticketing to not occur and for no associated alert to be generated to advise QF that flight bookings aren't being fulfilled? It's all a bit bizarre.
