Qantas First Class menus

OK yes saw that. Was wondering if there was a new Winter menu to coincide with the updated Lounge Winter menu. Maybe this is it.

Quite a bit of the food was the same as business and not updated for over 12 months. No vegetarian option only an unpalatable 'plant based dining'. Quite disappointing
Sorry I don't have the actual menu.

In future would you select a special meal? I’m travelling with a pescatarian next month.

And just to reassure you … plants are usually vegetables. :p

Qantas have removed almost all the options: vegan and Jain are the only ones left. So it is possible to preorder a vegan meal and to get one on the usual menu but not to get a vegetarian one at all...
The crew have not been informed and it took screen shots of hte very restricted options to convince them this was the case.
How can an expensive, so-called full service airline not offer a basic choice of vegetarian?

Well done recognising that plants are vegetables. The issue is that a plant only meal is not vegetarian. If we were meant to be vegan our bodies would make vitamin B12. Our bodies don't and we need this from our food e.g. dairy or eggs

Whilst yes, there has been a lot of crossover with the J menu for a number of years now, there have generally been some first only options (e.g. lamb rack) which is what I was hoping to see. Also was keen to see the wine list as when I travelled the same route around this time last year they were serving the Tait and a 2017 RWT which I became quite fond of.

Bring back the proper tasting menu with matching wines and the off menu seasonal dish which was often quite delicious.

This is J + at best with better flatware.
We can only dream. The glory days. As long as they have a decent champagne and red I can medicate myself sufficiently for a nice sleep

From memory, the F only meal options (plate of the day) were only available ex-AUS.
Reds on QF F have been inconsistent over the years - I've only had a decent red (eg RWT, St Henri, Old Block) in probably less than 1/3 of ~30 segments.

I would agree with those stats. I'm not quite at 30 segments in F, however your less than 1/3 statistic of decent reds would be similar to my hit rate.

Funnily enough, ~1/3 on QF is pretty good compared to most F carriers.
The exceptions are SQ and EK - 100% decent reds on their F.
QR I've only been on twice, many years ago, which had second growth Bordeaux. Not sure if that is still the case now.
All other F carriers I've been on have been pretty much 0% decent reds.
Never seen a Bordeaux on QF F, at least since they got the A380.
A little off topic, but if QF extended their red range on F, that would be a huge improvement.

SQ used to have impressive reds in F pre-Covid but the list is not as good as it used to be. On my recent flights I’ve stuck with champagne and just a glass or two of reds with dinner, which is probably what I would have done on QF as well.

Whilst it might be good compared to other carriers, it's still disappointing that 2/3 of the time you get some pretty average stuff given the amount you're paying for the seat and experience. A more consistent product is needed.

As PF said upthread, QF need to bring back the tasting menu and seasonal items (plus maintain a consistent quality wine list) to be able to truly differentiate F and J.

I recently was on SQ F and had some second growth Bordeaux, including this:
I'd say many people would think this is impressive.

Definitely disappointing, although we've all been conditioned to a degree that QF is consistently inconsistent.
The consistently decent wine list would put a huge dent in the budget - something I don't see QF's "new" management doing anytime soon.
