Seared tuna was bland. Would not have again. Others were pretty good. Lucky duck noodles the pick for me. Originally only ordered the coconut & mango sorbet for dessert but had the arm twisted by the waiter and added the mango w/yuzu curd. Both were great.

This was after an entree & main 90 min earlier in the QR lounge. Unsurprisingly I didn’t eat on the flight to HND. 😂

1 Jan. No special even though it’s New Year’s Day. They did have a special dish for New Year’s Eve but did not enquire more. Menu is less than inspiring and pared back even from my last visit last Nov. Had my main meal in the Qatar lounge fortunately. The tuna which I did have was bland. The regular laksa lobster is still good but portions of lobster is slowly decreasing from a couple of years back. But I did find a yummy white port instead and a nice not too peaty whisky to make up. It’s saying something when the fruit platter is nice and even the pineapple was sweet. A first world problem. However it’s still a welcoming lounge, friendly staff and friendly bar tenders, Daniel and Angeline and a good shower still post the mad rush between 5-7pm. My bar tender suggested we can write in for other drinks to be added on the menu which I need to get onto such as a vintage port rather than the overly sweet tawny port.

Just came across the above article and it made me think about my lounge plan for my upcoming trip to DXB via SIN.

I will travel from SYD-SIN on QF1 arriving in SIN at 21:05 and will head to the QF F lounge.

I then connect on EK353 to DXB (QF codeshare) departing at 00:30.

According to the above article the QF F lounge closes at 11pm.

Any recommendation for where I head to after that? EK lounge?

I am travelling in Y and am QF Platinum.

If you’re on an EK operated flight then your only options at the QF J (open till 1am) or QF F (open till 11pm) lounge and the EK lounge.

I’d say the EK lounge is better then the QF J in terms of food/drinks but the QF lounge has the noodle bar often serving laksa and more salads then EK.

One thing to note is that if the QF flights are delayed the F lounge will often stay open longer so keep an eye on QF1 SIN-LHR as this is the last flight.

It'll be easily apparent arriving on QF1 anyway
