Qantas First Lounges to Reopen

The time I was there: LAX (AA), AKL, CHC, ZQN and NLK. With another AKL and WLG from 10am.

I suspect the 0900 Monday morning AKL flight was picking up a lot of status PAX.
That would be right, but I think flights may vary day-to-day.

Does any one know if the standard QF lounge passes can be linked to NZ bookings. There was an article on another site indicating that QF were working on this and should be available in early May. I have a couple I need and was planning on given them away on this site to someone you maybe heading to NZ and does not have lounge access. If they can be used for the F lounge is is a better use of the pass than the domestic QP.

No, currently they cannot and speaking with the VIP Services Team they could not advise when this would be available (this was a week ago). Reason given was COVID and capacity restrictions. Note this was for both P1 passes and general passes as I had wanted to give family members passes when they were going to NZ last week. Whilst I understand general passes not being accepted I didn't bother trying to push the point that P1 passes should be eligible.

I asked the other publication to update the article which they did at the time.

Has anyone tried/been able to access the Air NZ lounges at the international terminal prior to a JQ flight?

In regards to Brisbane, BNE has a barrier between the first check in row and the rest to keep the red flights and green flights separate. All airline crew not operating to NZ must use the red zone. The barrier goes to the stairs where the left side is only for those in the red zone with their own security. There is a PPE station between the zones too.

I'm in the SYD F lounge now. I was the only customer in the lounge when I arrived just after they opened for the afternoon at 3pm! There are a few more people in here now - mostly on QF149, although I'm told EK passengers flying to DXB are also allowed in (assuming their journey is originating in Australia, of course). Service and food is excellent!

There is no champagne on the menu, but as @Berlin said, they do have some if you ask very (very) specifically for it.

Qantas has worked with a distillery to create a new Centenary Gin "QF100".

For those visiting the F lounge in the coming months, a new coughtail dubbed "Longreach Fizz" featuring it will be available in First, Brisbane International and Chairman's lounges over the coming months.

No word of it making an on-board appearance, but there's a whole other thread on that topic 😬

I was looking forward to trying the Longreach Fizz coughtail, but unfortunately the staff haven't heard of it! They asked around and think it will be coming soon.

Laughable but also not surprising given the SYD domestic lounges still don't have the Centenary Lager. Whoever is in charge of coordinating lounge F&B is doing a woeful job...

Pommery was flowing freely the other morning. Mind you, we got seated in the CL/P1 dining section for breakfast but there were bottles at the bar also.

They did in SIN ;)
Yes aware of the general one, I assume you also remember the 2019 lounge crawl where a larger area and also dining tables were set aside for the travelling party. During the 2018 HK lounge crawl @JessicaTam was quick to let the QF lounge staff know that there was a P1 travelling with a party of 10-12 and they all needed champagne.

See my comments on another board. I was offered Pomeroy at breakfast when I asked.

There were multiple P1s that time ;) Also within the SIN F lounge when that opened. I was a regular at both lounges (J when there was no F lounge and F thereafter).

Have they set aside a particular area for the CL/P1's prior to Covid this was not the case.
No it wasn’t, but the morning I was there, the very end dining section was roped off and “reserved” signs on tables similar to SIN. Being a Monday AM session, the lounge was pretty full with everyone from QP up given access. So, I guess it made sense to keep something aside for true 1st Class (there was an AA flight to LAX), as well as CL/P1 - but apparently not mere mortal WPs...

It would be interesting to know how busy other days/times are and whether that’s a clue on when the J Lounge reopens?

I was there last Friday morning. It was busy but not overly so.

@Kiwi_Flyer my apologies and I stand corrected the 2019 lounge crawl was in the J lounge. When I used to use this lounge I would often move out of the reserved rows of seating. I only got to the new F lounge once.
