Qantas Fleet Disposals/Aircraft Retirement

Does anyone know if there is an aircraft around somewhere that could be used to shoot interiors for a TV production? It would need to have seats but apart from that wouldn't need any other functionality, it doesn't even need to fly.
I was wondering if there is a graveyard for planes in Australia?

It would have to be a larger passenger jet.

The airlines are not very forthcoming with info...but this forum seems to have all the answers.

There is a B707, and a B747-200 still fully fitted out ( yup seats and all )sitting on hard stands out at Longreach, Central West Qld, at the Qantas Founders Outback Museum, I'm sure Management would allow filming for a small consideration they would make you more than welcome, especially over the next four months, which is quiet time for tourists. Google the Q.F.O.M. and check it out........
Point of interest, Longreach has much the same weather as Arizona/New Mexico, ideal for aircraft storage/display.........

Cheers Dee

The 98 feet runway width is a problem though for those wanting to leave one day though! Interestingly a lot of QF bodies seem to end up at Marana, no doubt Evergreen appreciate the value of the QF maintenance when it comes to spare parts:

Longreach Council have just completed stage one of the Airport upgrade, strengthening and widening where needed to enable it to take up to 737 size aircraft without penalty. Stage 2 is a new terminal further away from the QF Museum, enableing further hard stand areas for the soon to arrive PBY Catalina, a wished for Connie, and other QF historical aircraft...........

Just a note - ZK-JNC retires on Wednesday 21st October after performing QF113 SYD-AKL. It will be the final 733 to be retired and when JNC touches down at 7.55pm it will mark the end of Qantas 737-300 ops for good. For those who didn't know, JNC operated the last Qantas domestic NZ flight. Nice coincidence.

+1, and they have a very high amount of cycles so their reliability is not the greatest.

And how!

Those lack of directional air vents is hell on a humid day, let alone just really cycling the air about the cabin.

I know that humidity is a foreign concept to the Brits (perhaps taking a bath everyday is too for some of them), but God save me and the Queen why BA in their infinite wisdom decide not to install directional air vents in their aircraft if only for the pure and simple purpose of cycling the air.
