Full text of outage notification:

Scheduled maintenance

Our Frequent Flyer system will be undergoing scheduled overnight maintenance from 7pm (AEDT) Tuesday 24 January to approximately 7am (AEDT) Wednesday 25 January 2023.
During this time, Qantas Frequent Flyers will be unable to access their Frequent Flyer account via qantas.com, the Qantas App or via our Contact Centres. A number of services will also be unavailable including:
  • Joining or updating Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details, including email subscriptions
  • Making or changing flight bookings using Qantas Points
  • Requesting an upgrade using Qantas Points (Classic Upgrade Reward, Bid Now Upgrade or Domestic on Departure Upgrade Reward)
  • Accessing complimentary lounge invitations and linking them to bookings
  • Joining or renewing Qantas Club Membership
  • Using Qantas Points for non flight rewards including Qantas Wine, Qantas Hotels and the Qantas Reward Store
  • Registering for a member offer on qantas.com
  • Applying for a Premier credit card or accessing your account, including loading funds to your Qantas Travel Money card
Commercial bookings can still be made however Frequent Flyers will not be able to add their membership number. Please visit Manage Booking once the system maintenance is completed to add your Frequent Flyer number.
If you’re travelling during this period, you’ll still be able to check in online and access your digital boarding pass using your 6 character booking reference. If you’re using the Qantas App, you’ll also be able to add your trip and retrieve your boarding pass using the booking reference.
If you need to contact us during this time, longer than usual wait times might be experienced as we will not be able to prioritise calls based on Frequent Flyer status. We recommend only calling if travel is imminent.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I wonder what will be enhanced? I've taken a copy of various balances and lifetime sc tally..

Someone mentioned it another thread (DSC???). Apparently the QF money site was also getting some maintenance done.

But hopefully the new and improved QFF site will be flush with new reward seats past 31 July 2023.....

None that i noticed other than fact that APIS had dropped from tomorrow's flight so had to re-eneter
Mine is still there for tomorrow's flight... Will you be in the SYD lounge by any chance?

I suspect any "enhancements" may show up later. I suspect some core upgrades may have gone on last night which MAY support upgraded functionality at some point, but I doubt they will pull the trigger just yet if this is the case. As someone pointed out in another thread, there is a stated period for notifying members of changes.

I'd be more interested in any bug fixes to common issues we all endure with, but again I doubt anything has magically been fixed.. but maybe... If there have been actual core upgrades undertaken (I have no actual idea, just.. shall we say.. educated guess) it's unintended bugs that may crop up. hopefully not!

I was hoping for passwords longer than 4 numerical digits!
The only thing I've noticed is some of the status pages (green tier, lifetime) try to load but don't.

Unfortunately not my experience. Many elements are still responding with:

A 12 hour outage is not a great indicator of the underlying platform and systems in operation. Explains a lot.

I'm getting error messages every time I try to look at upcoming bookings, which I am trying to do mainly to check that upgrade requests have stuck and don't need to be re-entered.

App or website or both? Perhaps try logging out and back in? I’d probably clear cache/cookies….?

So doesn't look like any significant changes or enhancements.

It is quite possible and probable to have a technical upgrade that has nothing to do with a change of business practices. Most of those would be front end software changes that don’t require the site to be shut down.
