I wonder what the equivalent of staff travel will be.
As far as the trolleys can go...
I wonder what the equivalent of staff travel will be.
Not a lot of QF employees are 'young' like supermarket staff are (as in under 18), will be quite interesting to see if they actually do employee a few Qantas staff!I say this tongue in cheek given the severity of the situation and the fact that these are peoples lives and livelihoods but...
yes, you can expect the very best of Qantas service on your next Woolworths visit
They are hiring a lot. A lot of employees have received offers with start dates. Not a lot of QF employees are 'young' like supermarket staff are (as in under 18), will be quite interesting to see if they actually do employee a few Qantas staff!
I agree! They deserve full points for this.
Can we hope for in store service?
Qantas staff, are in for a bit of a rude shock, I suspect between the customer service training standards between the two companies.
That is if the jobs are available for all the retrenched staff * if and when* QF comes back to full capacity, which looks extremely unlikely in the short term. And for *some* Qantas staff the shock will be in a different way than you might be indicating. Some might actually start to appreciate their job and bring back a better attitude
I suspect that the attitude of those they deal with will be more or less the same though. And for *some* Qantas staff the shock will be in a different way than you might be indicating. Some might actually start to appreciate their job and bring back a better attitude

While this might be legal it sucks that staff on long term sick leave
I understand that but I think there is a difference between those on chemotherapy for last few months and those getting sick after the shutdown, I understand some wouldn’t see the difference as sick is sick but long term serious illness is different to me than a 1 or 2 day cold. Qantas decided who to stand down, it wasn’t everyone.A stand down is a stand down.
It sucks the same for staff with no annual leave for example.
Otherwise Qantas would just have employees using sick leave during the stand down.
Probably not until a vaccine is available - so 12 months or so? Plus lead in time.
But depends how airlines respond. If they've issued vouchers they may have little or no incentive to put on large panes when they could make almost as much out of a 787
There will be treatment available before a vaccine I can almost guarantee it. Rapid diagnostics, treatment, vaccine. In that order.
Very good point. Hopefully QF and help them quickly apply for that option and it can be fast tracked. I’ll mention this to people I know.It is harsh. But i wonder if income protection, which can be deducted from super, will kick in to cover these circumstances?
Applaud Woolies as long as they don't bring NP across as well!!!!!
Parking space at SYD is getting crowded. Here a QantasLink Dash snuggles up to a 747 like a Whale and it’s calf.
Where are they storing all their aircraft? There's a number going to AVV and some using the hangers in SYD...
It appears that OQH went to LAX last week as QF6001 and hasn't flown since. Being stored in the LAX hanger?
