Hi there,

I have made numerous flight bookings lately and I have not received the hotel voucher for ages.

Is it just random and / or are they still sending them sometimes?

I have to book some hotels and could really put 2 to use

TQ

In my experience hotel vouchers are very random but in saying that I think some on AFF receive them almost every time they make a booking.

This has been my experience.

Having said that, I have made three Qantas bookings over the last month and have not even received the basic promo email without a code.

I have given mine to others in the past, as didn't need them for that trip, but this time I do....Murphys Law !! 😂

maybe someone can make a booking with a unique email address and without adding the QFF details at the time of booking. See if a hotel voucher is generated. Of course, add the QFF, ABN details prior to travel.

Hi There,

Just to say following on from my original post that said I did not get any vouchers for multiple booking.
My daughter booked a flight ( first one in a while ) and she got a hotel voucher 😊

Still nothing for myself with multiple bookings.

<redacted>

Thanks

TQ

On a related note... Does anyone know if you can stack Qantas Hotel vouchers? Eg: $50 + $50 in the same reservation? Or would it need to be make under a separate booking?

Pretty sure it’s only one voucher per booking.

Since attaining and retaining PC and using the gratis hotel vouchers, I’ve not received a comp one for ages. So you might be onto something.

Jetstar has been giving away $25 hotel vouchers for years with every domestic flight booking so it must be profitable. Wonder why Qantas doesn't do the same.

It seems to be very random and from my observation some keep getting the hotel vouchers on every booking while the majority don't get any hotel vouchers.

I received a Qantas hotel voucher many years ago but none since and I used to book 60+ Qantas domestic flights each year. No vouchers ever for JQ bookings.

Also in my experience Hooroo/Expedia is more expensive than Booking/Agoda for the lower end hotels. It's not uncommon for a QF/JQ room rate to be $15-$20 more expensive than Agoda thereby saving only a few $$.

Just out of curiouisity if I have a Qantas Hotels booking and a voucher has been used, if I cancel the booking (within the allowed time period) will my voucher be refunded? I guess not..

If I cancel my Qantas Hotels or Qantas Holidays booking that I booked using a voucher, can I receive a refund in cash or voucher?

No, any amount paid using a Voucher is non-refundable. If you are entitled to a refund for the cancelled booking, and the booking included another payment method in addition to the Voucher, any hotel cancellation fees will be deducted from the amount paid by you, and you will receive a refund of the balance back to the payment card used for your booking.

No refund of voucher but why not make another booking if you still need to travel somewhere.

Different country, different city, different hotel, different dates, all ok.

Fortunately I don't need to cancel anything, at the moment. Just curious.

I guess you can simply just change the booking to a different date or hotel etc and it automatically transfers over the paid amount to the new booking? Thanks.

I've been lucky lately with Qantas Hotels. A $50 voucher really helped with bringing down an Airport hotel to a far cheaper rate than elsewhere. Also found a cheaper rate for a Perth airport hotel than elsewhere even without the voucher and cashback offerings for Booking.com etc.

They also refund any amount paid over voucher value if new hotel is cheaper.

I don't really look at my Gmail often (mainly use Outlook) and this morning was just going through Gmail to delete the messages and saw email from Qantas hotels for my wife this morning.

Discover Qantas hotels and in the body of email here's a $30 Qantas hotel voucher. Quite often I delete email just by looking at email header. Lucky I checked this one. Will come in handy for Christmas trip as still another 6-7 nights left to book.
