Qantas HY25 results

They are replacing seats. I'm pretty sure a basic seat with a tablet holder is going to be quite a bit cheaper (and lighter) than one with IFE in it, even if it costs you some $s to remove excess wiring.

And I suspect you are only doing the refurb at the point of a major check where you are pretty much removing most of the interior anyway.

Found a definitive source. 37 with IFE, 38 without. Total 75. Future IFE could be anything, lack of mention in the PR doesn't really mean much (the A330 IFE is a noteworthy upgrade. If the 737 is just retaining a similar screen does it deserve a mention?). Who knows.

So the financial benefit from running one type (737 to 321) will only kick in in about 2037(?), until then they will have to wear higher costs. Not great news for shareholders.

QF isn't a one type operator. It operates huge fleet, and the QF group already operates the A32X (JQ and QLK). So it's a matter of transitioning the crews (air and ground) from one type to another, gradually (which is how you want to do t) - but they've already got the base systems in place (simulators, GSE etc).

No different to the 767 > A330 or 747 > A380/787 transitions.

Int'l J SYD - long overdue.
Still nothing about Syd Dom J
Ultimately SYD is the main hub.

Is HBA "regional"?

Hopefully the "regional lounge investments" means an (overdue) expansion/refurb to the LST lounge, which could be possible in conjunction with the newly announced LST terminal upgrades

But they're saving the environment weight money!
I legitimately wonder how much money would be saved here penny pinching over something like policing excessive carry-on weight. (Even if its only for the aggregious obvious bags).

Lets say 400 set of cutlery for a 2 meal flight ~200pax wouldn't be more than 30kgs. (Also I'm pretty sure reusable metal cutlery should have better environmental impact over its life cycle).

Not disagreeing - these are the excuses that multiple airlines have used when removing normal cutlery from the main cabin.
